Revis is becoming annoying now big time. I thought he was a humble guy and a good all around player and leader. He has changed since last year, but you can't blame him I guess. I thought he was smart though too, but the Raiders contract was nuts to however you spell his name. He wants more? He should know that if he gets paid, you can't pay others. Thats why you have to respect Tom Brady. Sad Revis is like this.

aso's deal was that big because it was 1) a three year contract, 2) aso was a free agent who they had previoulsly franchised

revis needs to get the aso deal off the brain and look to the demarcus deal ... hes only player of revis' caliber, age, and in a similar contract situation who has signed a deal recently

Sign Mangold, Harris, and D'Brick first. Let Revis sweat while his teammates get a nice payday. Then he can't say crap about the other guys.

He won't get 16 million and the comparison is the fan reaction. Everyone reads some quotes gets mad and freaks out without actually thinking. It is the same exact thing and when this gets worked out everyone will be left to wonder what exactly they were so worked up about.

I doubt your rudimentary knowledge of a possible salary cap justifies your over-the-top posts to 'get rid of' the best cornerback in the league.

    Your posts fucking suck.

And for people saying that getting rid of Revis is unreal, then you are just stupid. Tannenbaum will not pay Revis under and circumstance, otherwise he would have done it already.

Which means Revis will either hold out, or accept the contract.

If he accepts the contract, then we are set. (Although he has made it obvious he's not going to)

If he holds out we will have no choice but to trade him and I wouldn't be surprised if Tannebaum has already considered that. Besides if we could get say three, 1st round draft picks for him, in my book that is worth it. Football is made of tough choices, obviously trading him is not a popular choice but it might be the only choice unfortunately.

Revis will never get $16mil a year from the Jets. Tanny knows the value of money more than anyone on the Jets. If I were a GM, even I would say no to that amount of money simply because we have Revis for $21mil over the next 3 years. I would, however pay that sort of money as an EXTENSION on top of the 3 years 21 mil (essentially a 6 year deal for around $70 mil).

Jets will not offer more than 12-13 mil a year contract and Revis would have to agree to it. The only way it can be bumped to $16 mil would be through some hard earned incentives including DPoY or a super bowl victory or something similar to that

you seem to leave out the possibility of the Jets offering a contract that is more reasonable to Revis and him signing that one. He won't be getting 16 million, I'm looking for him to eventually sign for 12-13 million a year. That contract isn't gonna be offered tomorrow so let the fan freakouts flow until August.

You might be right, who knows. We don't know how much he has been offered so far.

But if he really wants that money, he's not going to get it. So either he can sit on the bench the entire season or realize to accept a $13 million deal or we trade him.

    Thats it.

nobody understands....Tanny isn't going to lift a finger till he gets an idea of what the new CBA guidelines entail.....he's going about it the right way.

Let Revis, Mangold, and whoever else is inline for a new contract...beak off all they want. They're going to get paid....it's just not going to happen right away.

That's exactly right we don't know how much has been offered so for all we know Tanny has lowballed the shit out of Revis so far and he has a right to be pissed. The fuck Revis crowd seems to be under the impression that he has been offered something like 15 million a year and is turning it down. If there is one thing we should all know about Tanny it is that he is stingy negotiator which is why this is gonna take awhile to get done. He is gonna make sure he gets his man for the lowest possible price.

OR he is saying that to attempt to get the highest possible contract he can, just like Tanny will be trying to get the smallest possible contract. Revis seems like an intelligent guy and should know that contract isn't realistic but it shouldn't stop him from using it as a tool in negotiations.

Also option 4, is we pray the rest of the core 4 accept lower contracts so then we have money to pay Revis. Although I don't see that happening.
