Good way to start. Reyes has been much better at the plate for the past 3 weeks or so, and the Mets' 13-5 record in that span is not a coincidence.
That's it - for the first time in 56 road games the Mets win back-to-back. Great job by the pitching and enough hitting. Go for the sweep tomorrow with Pelfrey.
very good win, even if it came against a very bad team. Mets have to start winning these types of games.
Wright gets it started with a two-run jack, and now Carter hits his second three-run homer in three days. 5-0 Mets, and Millwood still has only gotten one out in the game.
Pelfrey looking very shaky so far. The Mets absolutely cannot blow this game - it would be a disaster if they did.
Is Pelfrey getting robbed on the pitch calls? I can't watch the game live, but gamecast just showed all 4 of those balls to Tejada as just inside the strike zone.
Pelfrey gets through the 4th, but 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings is not so hot. Mets need more runs.
Yes, and in answer to your earlier question, Pelfrey is not being robbed at all - he's just not pitching well, and hasn't been from the start of the game. If he can tough it out that's great, but the Mets are lucky that Millwood has been worse. Bay goes yard to make it 7-3.
Three straight scoreless innings for Pelfrey despite giving up 4 hits and a walk. Still a struggle, but he deserves credit for not letting the Orioles get closer so far.
Nice hustle for Pagan (and a bit of casualness for Moore at second base) as he beats out a DP and brings in another run. The failed DP allows Wright to face the soft tossing lefty, and we know that means. 10-3 Mets.
