For the first 4 games we have a vacancy at the WR position and we are not addressing it???

    What's going on here?

We need to hurry up before it's too late. We don't want guys like T.O and Coles to slip away.

Imagine if the Pats signed Owens? Or the Dolphins signed Coles?

    WR's available

    Future HOF Terrell Owens
    Kevin Curtis (released)
    Laveraneus Coles (released)
    David Tyree
    Javon Walker (Released)

The only thing I can tell you about T.O is that he demonstrated good behavior last year in Buffalo and the man can still play.

Should we sign another receiver for the first 4 games and if so WHO ??

T.O. is not that great anymore. And I wouldn't want him on our team. He is bad mojo.

Coles isn't going anywhere, he'll be available. I also really don't think we need another WR when we have LT, McKnight, Cotchery, Edwards, Clowney, and Keller.

I'd rather keep the roster spot open for someone like Donovan Warren or Kevin Basped.

Signing them for four games mean signing them for 16 games. Do u even know who the Jets had at the start of 09? Cotch and Stuckey as the starters and then Clowney/Brad Smith. Right now, we'll have Cotch and Braylon as the starters and then Clowney/Brad Smith. There is NO vacancy at WR spot. We are fine. Clowney will do fine at the slot in a run heavy offense.

Im not sure what the obsession is with having another WR for four games when our current group of WR for the first four games is what we used for 12 games last years. Just because Holmes is suspended does not mean we are lacking a WR. We have two #1s and then Keller.

No thanks. Like Pluvrr said, we have Warren, Basped who both should get a roster spot for sure. Also, we've already got two FBs, Smith and Clowney.

Isn't this the second or third time this attention whore has made a quasi, Terrell Owens- Sign that beast thread?

Surprised he can type while he is bobbing up and down with his head between TO's legs.

Crap, I didn't notice who posted this thread. Definitely shouldn't have taken it seriously.

I wouldn't mind bringing in Coles, but if not, I won't complain.

I think Edwards and Cotchery will get the job done at WR... also I'd like to see one of the less heralded WRs make a push for the job (although I'll always root for the underdog).

IMO our WR corp in the first 4 weeks will be:

    Edwards
    Cotchery
    Clowney
    B. Smith (listed at WR although he isn't really a WR)
    Allison
Davis / Woodhead (depending on pre-season)

and, on a run first team, I'm ok with that.

I think in the first for 4 games we run it as much as last year, maybe a little less, to ease back Sanchez... then when Holmes comes back we go more with a 50-50 (between run and pass) approach. It's going to be interesting to see what we do against the Ravens since they are very good vs the run and pretty bad vs the pass...

    No.

Dustin Keller is basically the 3rd WR for the first 4 games.

We'll be fine with Smith/Clowney/Allison as the "4" for the first 4 games. Holmes is an awesome luxury to have, but, he's far from a need.

The only one that would make sense is LC because he already knows the offense. We didn't have Holmes last season, so I think we can manage without him for 4 games this season.

Remember... if a vet is on the team week 1 his contract is guaranteed for the whole season.

Even if we were to bring in a guy like LC I doubt we'd do it at that price.

We've already got a logjam at WR next season once Holmes comes back. If we signed a WR good enough to get on the field for us and he had a hot start what would we do? Think about it.
