http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncf/news/story?id=5267933 Wow. It'll be weird watching bowl season without USC. I'd be pretty pissed if I was a current player on the team, and would probably want to transfer. Because, really, what's the point of playing the regular season if you know there's nothing to play for, since there's no postseason to reward yourself?
So Joe McKnight is probably pretty happy I guess this is a case of where there is smoke there is fire. It seems that the NCAA came down very hard on USC. I think slowly but surely we are seeing the downfall of a major college football power house and perhaps some form of competition for the top of the Pac 10 (if it stays like that)
and this type of arrogance is why many people dislike USC, especially in Southern California. yes, this ruling is because the NCAA is jealous that they aren't Trojans. well done, Mike Garrett. if he isn't fired for this entire mess and lack of institutional control, nothing will change at USC.
The NCAA has stated any junior or senior USC player can transfer to another school and not have to redshirt a year, thus be able to play immediatly! I wonder how many players will take advantage of this? I don't imagine many, but it creates some interesting scenarios.
I think that you'll see a lot of those former 5 star guys that are battling to see PT ready to split. I wonder if Mustain will go somewhere, seeing as how this might be his last chance to see the field.
I'm almost certain Mitch Mustain will leave. Aaron Corp already transferred to Richmond too...so SC will be in a tough spot if Barkley goes down. I bet we'll see a lot of those 5 star running backs get the hell out of there too. I think Fresno and UCLA will bring in a few guys that are buried on the Trojans' depth chart.
They can't transfer to Pac Ten teams if the report I just read is true. Not 100% on that, but that would tend to make sense. Fresno better jump on them now before they join to make it the Pac 20.
Haha...I don't think Frez is going to join the PAC-3000. With the success of Ryan Mathews, I really wouldn't be surprised if one of their backs transferred to us. We could also use some linebackers and defensive lineman. If Pat Hill didn't bring in so many good wideout recruits this year, I'd be really excited right now - USC has guys like David Ausberry and Brandon Carswell that chose the Trojans over the Bulldogs a few years ago. They've done absolutely nothing at USC.
I don't think it should happen but some time we have to do that actually we don't want to do it. If it is happening then we will see major downfall in college football powerhouses and competition will also be reduced.
This travesty could cost the Trojans the nation's best prospect Seantrel Henderson. It's looking like he's going to jump ship to his #2 team, Miami, and will seek to get an NCAA waiver so he won't have to sit out. He's saying Kiffin lied (GASP) about the sanctions, and that could be enough.
This is a great pick up for the Hurricanes if the NCAA allows it. They'd have themselves another Bryant McKinnie.
I'd love to get him either way, but I'd prefer it without the transfer year. My gut tells me he's the type to jump after three years, whether it's as a Junior or RS Soph.
Guys, OSU is still in the mix for Henderson's services. USC has to realise him from his schlorship before he talks to the Miami and Ohio State. Rumors of Henderson visiting Miami the past week were false.
