Plannin on putting a good effort in for this season. We are an ex-17A crew as well. We usually put on quite an event for tailgates with everywhere from 20-40 people each week. We lost a few tents, one at Buffalo game and of course one at Cinci (where we actually had construction grade propane heaters under our tents and were in t-shirts for the tailgate) but we still have the industrial sized grill. Not sure if the numbers have increased or decreased but we usually plan for a big shindig for the first game of the season. MNF brings some interesting options.

What we actually did was sell our tickets for the game and are all planning on watching from the tailgate. We are securing a projector and planning on projecting it onto a white bedsheet attached to the side of a bus/RV.

    Should be quite a shitshow.

Other than that, not sure yet of exact location. I guess it has to be outer with the limitation for closer parking only for lower decks.

It's an additional $75 on top of the cost of a pass. I'm assuming it's the same deal as last year, park anywhere...scour for an area with some grass.

That's what we were told as well. Just that some lots just don't have those "curbside" pull up spots like the old lots.

Nahh, I don't have any pics but maybe later in summer when lots are close to being done and old stadium is totally done I may take some. The entire lot is still a work in progress. Go Jets JS

    Checked out the lots tonight

I did an orange parking lot reconnaissance today, and it wasn't a great experience. I am amongst a tailgate group of a about 20 that looks to be split in half amongst yellow and orange parking. We're hoping the yellows come over to us in orange providing we find a decent orange area to park in. After looking and driving around today, there doesn't seem to be any. The key issue seems to be the way to cross the highway - do they allow people to walk over the road overpass north of the stadium?

Sure lot B looks close, but it's captured by the rail station, and if you're in the far north end of B, you'll have a good walk that includes an "up and over" in a covered walkway over an access road followed by what looks to be a trip through the adjacent yellow lot in order to loop around to the Verizon gate. There's a reason Lot B is orange. This lot might be closed by 9AM so if your grill guy gets there later than the food guy, it'll be a mess. No one can bring supplies across the highway over those tunnels.

It seemed to us that a decent spot on the northern Izod side might be the best choice because that way arrivers within our group have a larger window when they can show-up (Lot B will fill-up fast until many people realize it's not as great as it seems) but the question there is, will they allow pedestrian traffic over the overpass north of the train station that goes over 120 or do they force everyone on the Izod side towards the parking decks in order to cross the covered walkway? If so, the north/ north east lots on the Izod are a long way away. It's a good long walk just to get near the parking decks to begin the tunnel march.

Third option is lot P, which really seems to be the boondocks. Who knows if the shuttles I've heard about will continue into 2010? If you're willing to walk further without the steps and the potential crowded waits to filter into the tunnel overpasses after the game, Lot P might be the better option. At least it'll be hassle-free in and out and less competition for spots. Just might have to smell some horseshit, that's all.

I'd choose lot 28 or 29 on the Izod side if I knew I could walk across the overpass with out those above road tunnels, so I'd like to know if anyone's done that last year. I know some of you already like those lots for easy in and out. How do you walk over? We did it tonight but it's obvious they intentionally did not have crosswalks or sidewalks, which is unconscionable in my opinion.

Damn it. Just turn Lot K orange. It's not even THAT close. Those with yellow passes will pass it by to be closer anyway. It's total Bullshit. They probably will change it, though not this year. The start of this year will be chaos.

Any insight/comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I disagree about having to loop onto Yellow Lot D to get to the stadium from Lot B. I walked it during the Bon Jovi Show and was able to walk across the access road, loop around the train station to the Metlife Gate side from either the main entrance of the lot or through a small gate on the south side of the lot near that small useless bridge.

I do agree about the north side of the lot though. It's a dead zone over there. No way out until the main gates from what I saw. That would be a bit of a hike in my opinion.

Thanks for mentioning that. Good news.

We walked it yesterday, and it certainly is not designed to allow people walking. It'd be dangerous without cones or a traffic cop. I'd still do it though of course. From that northern area of lots next to Izod, the walk all the way to the parking garages and then the overpass tunnels looks to be a nightmare. Especially the return trip.

Thanks to 17a bringing it up the other day, I did confirm that the Bud Light corner has no fan access, and it is in fact a loading dock only! What a crap stadium design! I didn't think this could get any worse but I am convinced this place was designed by idiots. All the thought and money went into the suites and fuck everyone and everything else. Incredible. That sort of sucks since the overpass route leads right to the Bud Light gate - except people can not go in there. Let's admit it - this place is ugly and poorly designed by today's standards. This is NY/NJ for chrissakes - two teams! We deserved, and are paying for, BETTER than this.

Well, if we can traverse that overpass roadway, I think lots 28 and 29 (not even on the official lot map) that's the best bet for big tailgating-non-psl-buying-diehards. I just hope enough people are walking over so we don't get hit by a car.

Lot P is still labeled as lot Y - had a lot of carnival "riff-raff" (carnies) hanging out in it and left a bad impression with us although by football time the atmosphere should be OK. If the shuttles still run it might not be bad. It'll be mellow with regards to competition for spots etc, plus you can moon the rail passengers as the train goes by. That might be fun for some people.

One other comment - many of these far away orange lots are really in poor condition and could desperately use some fresh blacktop. Cracks, weeds, uneven, you name it. Hope they spruce them up.

Only suggestion I can give is what I'm trying to work on which is getting a yellow parking pass on ebay, craigslist, etc. I could see them dropping to around $300-$350 for a season pass. If you can unload the orange at cost I find it worth the extra $5-$10 per game to be closer. Especially if you have 4 people riding in it's an extra $2.50 per person per game. I'm not trying to sound like a PSL sales rep here or something but for me it just makes more sense.

You were able to drive around the lots during the day no problems? Been thinking about taking a ride up one day during the week next week.

Sorry for the delay - I've been away. Yes, we were able to drive all around without hassle.

Seasons almost here and im pumped for some tailgating, yeah and football to i guess.

Im goin to the Ravens Game, Pats Game, and the Packers game and im getting a yellow parking pass, I looked at the map 17a posted earlier in the thread and it looked like that means every lot, but another map i found shows that the upper decks are segragated to their own lots and PSLs to others, thats pretty lame.

The new parking layout confuses the hell outta me, i almost didnt make it to the cincy tailgate last year cuz i ended up in the wrong lot.

So it looks like ppl are planning on parking on the Izod side and traveling over? anything good going in yellow lots? this threads been dormant awhile and it time to get it churning again...

Upper deck lots are out in bumblefuck. To make it worse if you sit in the Pepsi Corner it's even worse with the walk. People with yellow parking can park in the yellow or orange lots. I have uppers but threw someone with a PSL pass they werent using an extra $50 for the year so I didn't have to do the walk of hell. I think PSL lots will have more open spaces but still should have some good tailgates going on. Upper decks will be packed since that is sold out so those should be filled unless people pick up a yellow pass on ebay. Club lots will probably have nothing going on at all.

Ive got a 10x10 a 9x9 2 Tables, 2 Grilles(well 1.5 grilles) T.V. for the early games, which for me only applies to the Pats game, but Pregame is good for the others, chairs and coolers. Not quite 17a quality but i have a good time with it.
