His drops last season were nowhere near what his terrible numbers of the past two seasons. Hopefully the downward trend continues. He was dropping wide-open TDs at the beginning of drives but it's still much better than when he was in Cleveland, dropping desperately needed passes on 3rd down. I think that production proved it was mostly a concentration issue that clearly was not going to get solved in Cleveland with a string of horrible coaches, a constantly rotating starter at QB, and a supporting cast a WR that was either younger, less experienced or much less talented. It was clear that he needed mentoring and direction, neither of which he was getting in Cleveland, but plenty of which he has been getting from the Jets with Ellard and Cotchery.
Word Play rules! No matter if it's incidental. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=1726635&postcount=60 Hehe.
it's so annoying how when a player says the best thing he can possibly say, some people are still there to dissect it in a negative way. i read that in the paper before i saw this thread and i was ecstatic. Of course he wants to get paid at the end of the day, anyone does, but that's not his sole motivation and that's not why he said that. If you do things the right way and focus on the process, without just looking at the end result (in life, in general) good things tend to follow and the pieces line up. This is something rex acknowledged and I think most players understand. as far as braylon changing his attitude...he was never really a bad guy. I think most people in his position would eventually become bitter, unfocused or frustrated losing that much and with such chaos. A change of scenery can always do wonders, and I think braylon is showing the person he believes he is.
Braylon being viewed as a malcontent was more of Cleveland thing - or loser thing, or Mangini thing - than Braylon himself. After he arrived NY, he has never complained - even during the low time last year. If he keeps growing like he has, he will make me forget about Keyshawn... ---------------------------------------------------------------- If Santonio shows as much of maturity as Braylon, and IF both are kept... the passing attack will be very fun to watch for at least 5-6 years. God, I love that thought.
Very encouraging read on Edwards. I think he's starting to finally "get it". Big year on his horizon.
