good to hear! Glad to see Edwards is working his balls off. Also I don't understand why most players don't realize this point. If he works his balls off all year, he will get paid, AND if the Jets win a superbowl he will get paid, if he does both and is a huge contributor in getting us a superbowl, he will get paid even more!

So yeah in a contract year, every player should be soing all they can to put their team over the top to win a superbowl

I'm really liking Edward's attitude this off-season, especially after the Kerry Rhodes incident, guys head is in football and he's looking to turn some heads this season, I see him having some big games for us this season, were going to need him, the impact he had on the running game was amazing

It's going to be tough deciding between Braylon and Holmes in the off-season, but I think we will make the right decision in the end

With that said, i'm absolutely rooting for Edwards to have a monster season

Scary to think what a guy with that much talent can accomplish if he's truly that motivated.

Nice maybe he understands it now.
The Jets restructured his 2010 so that IF he gets suspended he won't lose 1 games pay check. Maybe he gets it that this Franchise helps it's players out, or he doesnt want to hear the 'dropped ball' bullshit anymore and be a great player.

I think he realizes that if he has a good season and keeps his mouth shut it will be more lucrative in the long run.

100 vCash says that if Edwards drops the first pass that's thrown to him this season there's at least 10 posters on this board immediately screaming "SAME OLD JETS!"

Good article though, very nice to hear Edwards is focused on what is really important. Seems like he really has a fire lit under his ass.

He knows that one thing leads to another, I'll be impressed if he is still working this hard next offseason after he gets his mega contract.

Pretty scary thought I'd imagine for other teams. The onslaught of offense that can be produced by our current roster is going to be fun to watch.

“There’s going to be times when we’re going to use him inside to stretch the seams,” wide receivers coach Henry Ellard told me. “A big bodied guy with great leaping ability will be able to make plays down the seam. He can manhandle a lot of guys. That’s what we want to use to our advantage.”

This is what I see in Edwards, and what the Jets need at wideout, that makes me wonder why the naysayers are down on him. As the article points out it is also unfair to say he drops too many passes. I expect we will see him this coming season as the best Jet of all at the skill positions.

This is great news. I can't wait for this season to start. Looks like having a bunch of guys waiting for contracts is going to work out...

Who wouldn't want to play hard to win a SB? Come on Gladys. It's your time to shine.

We saw that when he carried two Dolphins into the EZ in a battle he apparently lost. I think the influenece of LT and Sanchez are really going have a big effect on the players on the O. You also have to think that Schotty finally started to get it at the end of the season. That could also be huge for us, the guys know the O and if they're hungry and healthy this O could be capable of some big things.

Same here. I see a ton of talent, that if properly utilized, will be elite.

I also tried all last year, unsuccessfully, to get people to look realistically at his supposed "dropsies" problem. It's really not the issue people have made it into.

Braylon Edwards in the slot is gonna be a problem for defenses. Either he's gonna make them pay, or Keller will be in line for a big year.

I wonder if seeing his buddy shipped out to the desert helped give him some of that perspective. I don't believe for one second that he doesn't care about getting a contract at all but it is nice to know that he isn't gonna be crying about it at all this year.

Think playing for Rex has something to do with the change in attitude?
Players love playing for the guy and if they're happy it goes a long way towards creating chemistry within the team and guys just wanting to go out and play.
I think the team as a whole is going to be something special.

Honestly, I see it like any other job. Sure, you want to make as much money as you possibly can, no one wants to take less than what they're able to get. At the same time, if you truly love your job you want to excel at it for personal reasons, one of which being pride in yourself. That's what I'm taking from this. He has a personal desire to win, not just get a paycheck. He knows he's going to get a great payday unless he completely shits the bed this year, which is highly unlikely.
