    Game 1: Monday @ 10:05PM

Hisanori Takahashi, LHP (4-1, 2.13) vs. Kevin Correia, RHP (4-4, 4.03)

    Game 2: Tuesday @ 10:05PM

Mike Pelfrey, RHP (7-1, 2.54) vs. Wade LeBlanc, LHP (2-3, 3.71)

    Game 3: Wednesday @ 6:35PM

Johan Santana, LHP (4-2, 3.03) vs. Clayton Richard, LHP (4-3, 3.00)

The Mets need to win two out of three and have the potential to with Pelfrey, Santana, and a surprising Takahashi pitching.

1-0 Mets with a nice RBI by Pagan, Correia looks like he's gonna get torn apart if he keeps pitching like that up in the zone.

Takahashi gets two outs with the bases loaded, and then gives up the 5th grand slam the Mets have given up this year. 4-1 Padres, and it's amazing how the Mets just can't seem to put it together on the road.

This might turn into a fine opportunity to bring in Perez. 6-1 Padres, none out, top of the 3rd.

Edit: and 5 seconds later, Perez gets up in the bullpen.

Hundley stupidly doesn't slide, saving the Mets a run.

Whenever Perez comes in he should pitch the rest of the night unless the Mets score some runs and make this a close game. If they don't score, then let Perez finish the game. If he pitches 5 or 6 innings and allows 16 runs, fuck it. The A's let Mike Oquist take one for the team one night. Perez can do the same.

While on the subject, instead of making anonymous quotes to newspapers, why couldn't some of the Mets players take batting practice on Perez's knees?

^ Perez should be put on the DL with a bruised psyche or something.

Nick Hundley just pulled a Jeremy Giambi.

He didn't slide and instead of a sac fly, it ends up being an inning-ending double play.

    Padres still lead, 6-1.

C'mon man...give my Friars some credit.

I think Pelfrey will out duel Wade LeBlanc, but Clayton Richard has been surprisingly this year. He's won 4 of his last 5 starts.

David Wright is now 11/13 against Kevin Correia.

the guy on deck didn't signal him, but if there's no signal, how do you not slide? Based on the fly ball, it was pretty clearly going to be a close play.

Johan has had the better career and there's no one that can argue that, but this year, I can't tell much of a difference in the two.

    Santana: 4-2 with a 3.03 ERA

    Richard: 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA

Both have very good strikeout-to-walk ratios.

If they both have their best stuff on Wednesday night, then we should see a low scoring game - especially in a ballpark like Petco.

Garland, Latos, and Richard have been damn good this season. The only reason LeBlanc's in the rotation is because Tim Stauffer had his appendix removed and Chris Young is on the 60 day DL. Correia should be replaced ASAP (but that's not happening any time soon).

I'm just sayin, I'd much rather put money on Johan than Richard.
But then again the mets don't score when he pitches. He should have about 7 wins if the mets didn't suck.

The Mets are back in it, mainly because of Jose Reyes. I really Reyes - he's great for the game.

    Kevin Correia is so bad.

Now that the Mets have made it close, Perez can sit down again for a while.

Vades doing his finest Perez imitation.

Like I said, it's amazing how the Mets just can't do anything on the road. Manuel with his usual nonsense - he doesn't get Mejia up until Valdes walks in a run, and he has the infield back down by 3 runs in the 5th inning.
