It's not just the beat writers who hate the Jets. The Dolphins radio announcers were having a field day when the Dolphins won both games vs the Jets last season. Yelling and screaming like fans who won a prize and were able to call the games. I can't wait for payback!
I was called high brow and intellectual for using a vocabulary above a 6th grade level, so I really didn't care to entertain anymore posts. It feels like I can't make a post without someone finding something insignificant and unrelated to the topic, and arguing about it. What's the point? This is in response to one of the guys telling me to continue posting. Which begs the question, why are the posting rules so stringent? When can I actually quote someone? It's difficult to carry on a conversation without the ability to quote. edit: apparently at 10 posts.
Well that is complete and utter bullshit. Post count is irrelevant. It doesn't take to long to realize if a person is going to be a good poster or an asshole. 75% of new posters fall under the latter. Posts complaining about post count are usually a good tell.

If you post stupid shit all the time like "LOL WHY WOULD YOU EVEN POST THIS" to get your post count to 5k and your name recognized, your posts magically stop getting criticized. Long time posters get criticized all the time, especially if they post stupid shit. I get criticized all the time. I could care less. If I was some kind of whiny pussy, I suppose internet criticism would bother me. That being said If you can not figure out why a regular, known poster gets more leeway than an unknown quantity perhaps you are not too bright. I would also caution that someone posting "LOL WHY WOULD YOU EVEN POST THIS" constantly to get 5000 posts would be on everyones ignore list and/or banned.
I also want to add if you have been lurking for as long as you say, you would know that post count was a non event up until a couple of months ago. Edit: I made this extra post to boost my count since it is a race.
When I was a new poster I stuck to common sense and never acted like I was something special. No one is bigger than TGG. I still don't act that way unless I'm feelin saucy and sarcastic. People can read between the lines and tell what type of character you are and that's why certain people get certain responses. I still think we should remove post counts.
Hell yes get rid of them, they mean nothing in the scheme of things. I post just like I am in person........lol scary but true as people that have met me can attest.
That is a BS statement. nyjunc has the highest post count, yet he is probably the most polarizing poster here. Why? because he makes a statement and follows it up with conviction. He sticks to his guns and has good FB knowledge. he is passionate about his beliefs. Look at the top 30 members in posting and I guarantee all of them have people who criticize them..except maybe jetfanmack

Yet they are tearing into him pretty good. In-fact, he really hasn't even been posting lately. In one of the Henne vs Sanchez debates nyjunc gets exposed pretty good by some of the more educated fans over there.

the problem with most of the people that only post when they have something to say is that they believe whatever they have to say is so brilliant that it couldn't possibly be criticized. the reason the post count stays so low is because usually it is easier to throw up your hands and tell everyone they are losers for posting on an internet forum so much instead of actually developing a coherent argument to defend a position.
C'mon now. Some of us can only come up with one coherent thought a week and our post count is low because of that.
