The good: Mets pitching shutout string still alive through 2 innings. The bad: Mets have bases loaded with none out and the top of the order coming up in the top of the 3rd and don't score. On the road again ...

Might be the last inning for Santana, his pitch count is low but due up in the 8th

I'm willing to go on record saying that I agree with keeping Santana in the game, however it works out.

Good call, I didn't think Manuel would leave a starting pitcher in this deep into a game!

Great game for Johan so far... hope the meat of the order can do some damage in the 9th.

Johan still throwing in the 90's in the 8th inning... do you leave him in for the 9th?

Part of that depends on how he feels, which we obviously don't know. If he feels strong and it's still 0-0, I think I would keep him in; if the Mets score I would take him out. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here, however.

Feliciano replaces Santana. I can't believe that Manuel pulled him! (just kidding)

On the other hand, Feliciano throw one pitch and is removed. I'm going to assume that Santana told Manuel that he couldn't go any more, because otherwise Santana should have stayed in to face Fielder.

I hate the whole one pitcher for one out in a 0-0 game in the 9th inning we were better off leaving Santana in to save Feliciano for later

    And Igarashi blows it.

Mets continue to lose on the road.

That's 2 consecutive games this guy has shit the bed after a stellar Johan start, I would normally say Johan didn't deserve to lose but neither did Gallardo. The one bright spot in all this is our SP is pitching out of their heads right now.

Not to dump on Manuel, ok I am, put how the hell do you let Feliciano throw one pitch and then take him out??? The guy is perfectly capable of getting righties out just as effectively as lefties. He's your best reliever other than K-Rod, you have to leave him in a tied game longer than one pitch/one batter. I knew we were losing this game the second that occurred. Just a gut feeling.

I hate that too, the guy is certainly a capable reliever so why Manuel has treated him like Chad Bradford is downright stupid. He's not a situational pitcher.

What he should have done was just keep Johan in to face the one batter. It was a tie game in the 9th inning, chances were it was going into extra innings, why waste him for one hitter?

There's a thing on Frenchy on Metsblog today. Cerrone makes a good point, he's not even a starting OF anymore. He's more like a defensive replacment, except for the second part of last season and the first week of this year, hes' been terrible.
