I had a chance to walk to the top of the Stadium last month, I was shocked at how good the view was from the last row. I had the same concerns but it looked good to me. of course there wasn't a game going on but it looked good. I posted pics in the Stadium thread.
no way a 100 yard field looks good from up there???? bro that is terrible.have you see people on the field yet??? im in row 10 and the people where tiny. i sat in row 13 of the old stadium and thought is was great.
I gotta agree. They had about 7 people standing in the middle of the field when I went on my tour and they looked like ants. I'm not even a LL guy. Been sitting in the uppers for the last 4 years in the corner about 4-5 rows from the top. This new view is pretty shitty.
No way. In the new stadium the uppers are higher and further away than in the old stadium. In the old stadium the uppers were directly over top of the mez seats, in the new stadium the uppers are above and behind the mez level. The nose bleeds are WAY WORSE than they were in Gints Stadium.
A few comments on the stadium from my point of view. I had the worst seats for football that there are for next season for the concert. Upper corner last row. Yes, Bon Jovi looked like an ant, and even the huge TVs weren't easily viewable. But that was expected from up there, I more went to the concert to see the new stadium. I have to agree I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. First of all, it resembles the old stadium in many ways. It doesn't seem like for the cost of the new place, for both the teams and the ticketholders, the noticable upgrades or differences really weren't there. I felt like I was in the old stadium that had been washed and slightly upgraded, but there wasn't anything remarkable about the place. After being there 3 mins, the "wow" factor was gone, it has no real distinguishing features making it seem like a huge waste of money. Maybe those changes were in the suites or other levels, but along the top concourse and in the stands themselves I just felt like I was higher up in the same old stadium with a couple new bells/whistles. Let me say this tho, if that fireworks show was a part of the stadium design, that will be sick if they use it during games. That was pretty sweet. I mean looking at the Cowboy stadium and that huge screen, no matter how ridiculous it is, you can almost warrant the pricetag, because it is a definite upgrade from the stadium of old. I don't see that upgrade here.
The fireworks were awesome. The Cowboys stadium cost less, has a dome, and blows away the New Meadowlands Stadium as far as the coolness and wow factor are concerned. Arizona too... Woody and the Maras should call it "Corporate Stadium"... this place was built for suits.
I changed my mind about taking a tour some months ago because I knew I would get so mad I'd probably punch someone in the face. Fiasco. That's all I have to say about the brand new sh*thole we never needed. Coming from a season ticket holder who's father was with this team from its' inception (and I've been going since I was very young): Woody Johnson can go choke on a big, fat, dikk. I hope the place is half empty on opening day, and that he has to pay people to sit there for appearances.
It looked really good in person, alot better than I expected. The Stadium itself looks like a model of fedEx and i sat in the UD there much closer to the front and the view was MUCH worse. There are alot less rows in the new UD though. Up front is probably like 15 rows back was in the old place.
Bunch of crybabies. I sat in 337-31 in the old place, top row corner... and you know what? I loved it. stood on my chair half the game. Liked it enough to get the Mezz version of the same thing: Section 247A, top row, right under a jumbotron in the Pepsi corner. Sightline seems great, though noticably more drawn back from the field. Remember, the volume of the interior bowl is DOUBLE that of Giants Stadium, so it is more drawn back, you are further away, most cases in equivalent seating. Upper deckers, you knew you'd be up there when you chose your seats.
I don't really like going to games anyway. I find people annoying and I can never see the action. T.V. FTW!
so glad your family paid for your ticket. btw remind me to charge your ass $10 a hot dog when i see you
Well, that's true enough, but in this case I think it is warranted. I'm so excited for this season that I really do hate to be so negative, but outside of it being a new stadium , and it not being called GIANT stadium any more, there is really nothing here to be happy about. That is true if your seats used to be in the uppers, and maybe even more so if you moved to the uppers to avoid PSLs. hmy: Just look at the pics of the two side by side, the new stadium is significantly bigger than the old one on every axis, and it doesn't carry very many more seats. Doesn't take an architect to figure out what that translates to. The old stadium was great, because the uppers were built right over the mezzanine level. That kept the seats close to the field and resulted in there not being a bad seat in the house. Not even all the way up top. Now you'll need binoculars from the uppers or have to spend 2x to get set up with club seats - which as soon as they have you hooked into buying, the pricing will start ramping back up,up,up. The people who are reporting back from the concert are just confirming what I was hoping I was wrong about, but have thought from the first time I saw the framing.
i ve seen it in person twice. once during constructiona nd the other upon completion. and just b/c it not as bad as FED EX which you say is god awful, that makes this stadium good?????
