It's only going to take one bad kick in a regular season fourth quarter by one of these new douches, and everyone will be screaming this.

At that point, I'll be wishing I had the patience to drag up everyone's offseason comments about how "it's only a kicker".

Feely was a rock under pressure. Probably the worst of a, albeit very few, bad offseason moves.

1.) Had nothing to do with pressure. Sometimes kickers miss.

2.) Interesting you mention two games. How many did we play last season?

3.) Feely >>>> Folk. Enough said.

Sort of like what happened late last season when Feely missed kicks?

I suspect you spent the better part of last season mistaking Jay Feely for Adam Vinatieri or Jason Elam? Occasionally, kickers miss field goals.

It's simple, really. Feely is a better kicker than Folk. By miles. We downgraded our kicking game, for what? To save $500k and/or to sign Jason Taylor?

Like I said, one of the few bad FO moves so far this offseason. Just seems silly to me that so many are turning a blind eye to the fact that kicking field goals very often determines the outcome of games.

What are you basing your assessment on? Folk's numbers last year?

Look at Feely's three years in the league.....78%, 80% 70%

Folk's first three years (his only three years so far) 83% 90%, 64%

Everyone knows that last year was terrible for him, but do not write him off as a kicker just due to one bad season. Feely took six years before he ever got over 90%, Folk took two. Past success doesn't indicate future success, and having a high percentage kicker doesn't mean he will not choke the crunch time, it just makes you feel better if his numbers are higher. Hell, Vanderjagt, one of the most accurate kickers of all time, went over 90 % one year, missed a kick vs. the Steelers in the playoffs, and the Colts lost by three.

Hell he had one year where he went 100%, and what did it get him? Nothing.
