What would you call it when these guys are demanding contracts before their current ones are up, especially the guy asking for $20 mil per year when we don't even know what the new salary cap is going to be when the CBA is worked out?

Players ask for new contracts all the time, it's not whining. If you continue to hear from them about it and they hold out or whatever, then yea, it's whining.

    hypothetical:
Reporter: So, you're on the last year of your contract, are you hoping to re-sign with the Jets?
Mangold: Absolutely, I want a new contract, especially after what happened with Leon getting injured and all.

    This is not whining.

By your definition I would still say that these three are whining, especially Revis.

All four guys have earned new contracts but I am liking how Fergeson has been less vocal about it.

whatever dude. this is the first time we've heard of any of them asking for contracts. if we start hearing about them parking in Woody's spot, then I'll worry.

maybe they're purposely trying to get it done this year, before the new cba is worked out...when a cap is set then its harder to squeeze money out the team

i dont think theres anything wrong with requesting a new contract

there is something wrong though when you attempt to hold a team hostage by either threatening to holdout or actually doing it

and theres something wrong with making unreasonable demands

chris johnson wants to be the highest paid offensive player? utterly dumb. highest paid running back is sound, but more than peyton manning?

The cba is only the reason we haven't extended these guys. I think players should understand that. If there a work stoppage and you pay out crazy guaranteed money where does that put you as an organization? Not to mention you can't really manage your cap effectively if you have no idea where it'll be if at all. These guys need to chill out. They'll get what they have earned although you cam understand the worry about injuries

havent seen any 'whining' from any of these players.

this is how this business works. players say little quotes, and it puts pressure on the gm's/owners to do something about it.

because little rich cimini will be writing dooms day articles about contracts until they are done.
