No article or anything here. But with the big 4 resignings coming up, it seems to me that Harris is the most expendable of the bunch. Revis isnt even a consideration, then you got one of the best centers and LTs in the game protecting our young franchise QB and plowing the way for a run first team. For a defense that relies most heavily on its cornerbacks and OLBs it seems like losing Harris wouldnt have have nearly the impact of any of the other guys. If theres a way to resign all 4 including Harris im sure Tanny will find it and id much prefer that, but this thread is mostly assuming that one of the 4 HAS to go, and the logical choice would seem to be Harris. So out of curiosity what do you think the value of someone like Harris on the market would be assuming the front office looked to trade him after this coming season ? Or do you think one of the other 3 would be gone before him ?
I think the Jets would be fools to trade or even think about trading Harris. That is just my humble opinion though. If it is with the teams power to resign all 4 I say, why not. Bart Scott is no spring chicken and the Jets need somebody to anchor the MLB. Why not Harris? Maybe Westerman but, I will Harris over him any Sunday of the regular season. Just my opinion.
Clearly, it would be criminal GM'ing to let any of these four guys go, but I found myself wondering this yesterday, too. Harris is definitely the weakest link of the four, which is a huge compliment to the rest. I think it all comes down to what his demands are. If he's looking for Willis money, he may be hitting the trade block in a real hurry. And that would be a f***in' shame.
if they didn't think they could resign all four, they would have let Harris go last year in the Sanchez Sweepstakes.
Well if they knew that they could not sign him later on then they would have traded him, its not like they did not know this was coming... Also if we were to trade him it would be a first round coming back, and a first round contract. this would be counter productive if you ask me, pay him instead of a unproven rookie. Signing all four of them is a absolute must, at any cost.
More than that...either another pick or another player would come back in that trade equalling more salary to pay. Why are all of these guys unhappy now??????????
I do agree somewhat, considering Harris was heavily involved in the Marshall talks a few years back. Do I think he will get traded, No. Do I think he could be the odd man out, Yes. As good as Harris is, most ILBs dont have a great return. I would hope we could hold on to him because he is an excetpional player
What I meant was, he was a major component to potentially landing Marshall, obviously after the Jets said No he was off the table. Harris was probably the reason why we didnt get Marshall, not that I'm complaining about not getting Marshall (not saying I wanted Marshall)
Whatever you are smoking, you've got to spread the wealth. It sure is doing its job on your head just fine.
Harris isn't going anywhere... did you see how he played last year...he is everything we want in a MLB and the only one better than him in the league is Willis...I wouldn't trade him for the world...he is awesome...if you go on youtube and watch that #q defense video the first 4 plays are all harris...that sack on shaub is insane.. I am really happy he knew that horse collar rule.
I thought you were inferring that the Jets were shopping him already. But I think that was all on the Broncos end. The Jets seemed certain in that instance that Harris was off limits.
