It's safe to say I'm shocked right now.

Look what happens when you string some timely hits together....I just hope they can finish the job right now, in this inning.

    Mets bat around!

Carter gets an RBI double to take the lead.

    at intentionally walking Reyes.

Not surprisingly, that didn't work out for them.

Not to nitpick, they could (should) have tacked on at least one more run. Hope it doesn't bite them in the ass.

This kid is truly remarkable. I didn't think he had a chance to catch that! What a fucking grab.
I don't like to put too much weight on a win in May, but that was something. Hopefully they build on it with a win tomorrow.

I'm not typically a big believer in the "game that turns things around" principle, but if such a thing does exist, this is certainly the kind of game that could do it. And why is it that Ike Davis can catch popups over the dugout railing better than anyone in major league history? It's pretty amazing.

Cattalanatto sucks and I don't get why the team picked him up to begin with.

He's old and can't hit or field. I'd much rather have had a minor league call-up.

    You give up awfully easily.

Why not? People put a shit ton of weight on a loss in april in may, same should go for wins, am i right?

I get why Cattalanatto was brought in, He's been a pretty good pinch hitter and a solid club house guy for his entire career, but it's obvious that he no longer has it. Certainly glad Carter was brought up though.

Alot of people around here give up awfully easy.

And people were saying that they shouldn't bring Carter up yet. And Ike is a beast.

Well, you know the old baseball adage: you can't win the pennant in April and May, but you can lose it.
This was definitely one to build on. For once I stick with a game and it pays off.

wow, just starting reading the new posts in the thread, got depressed when I saw we were down, surprised to see we won....

The biggest thing I'm worried about in terms of the team is our ability to come back from being down in the game. We had that ability in 06, and it was lost in 07, 08, and obviously for 09. Did we show a lotta fight tonight?
