"Kids, Say yer prayers and eat yer vitamins, cuz Cushing mania is on the loose...... errr starting week 5"
Brian really looks ripe and looks like he has been indeed on steriods from pictures shown on the internet.
Clay Matthews of the Packers will be next. There were rumors before the draft that year, that him and Cushings failed drug tests. hmy:
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=1141602&postcount=2 Hate to tout my own horn about something so obvious, but thought this was funny.
Just got a text from ESPN saying that the AP are taking a revote for rookie of the year after hearing that Cush got caught with PEDs..
Jairus Byrd was a distant second in the voting. Something tells me he's got a pretty good shot, since Clay Matthews was third.
My question is... they new this at the beginning of last season... what would've happened if the Texans reached the SB? Players need to be suspended on the SAME DAY they are found positive... not after the season!!!
Each player has an appeals process and they do not release the information, or the decision until after the appeal is carried out.
I know but what if someone on the NO Saints team was found positive back in September and only get disqualified for the 2010 season? Would it still be a fair SB run? IMO players should get suspended straight away... or at least in the same season they're found positive. If they win the appeal they can shorten the ban... honestly how many teams did players who were positive in the first place win the appeal? In other sports I follow the answer is never...
correct me if i am wrong but dont they have to fail twice to get suspended? or is that only for regular drugs like marijuana and cocaine? i have to assume that is the case.
PEDs are an automatic 4 game suspension. It was 30 days in the past, but now it's 4 games in the regular season. BTW, the policy on other drugs is a completely separate policy with separate punishments.
I completely agree, the appeal process is far too long. one full year? please, cushing tested positive early on in the year, appeal should be 3 weeks. How long can it possibly take to retest the sample, run it for DNA to prove its 100% Cushing's. Then go to the doctor and see if he has a legit medical reason to be taking whatever PED/possible masking agent for PED's if he doesnt have a legit reason from a doctor, then they need to get suspended. If they were stupid enough to not check the list of things they can't take 100 times before ingesting something (or you know run it by the team doctors first) then they still should get popped. They need to crack down harder on the steroid users in football. I would be curious to know the % of players who are on roids, or have taken them in the past (at the pro level). I also think if they are caught, they should be stripped of all awards they won (personal awards) that season, in this case DROY and Pro Bowl appearance. as far as team awards, you can't take them away, you can put up an asterisk ***** like the Pats with the video camera schemes, and rodney harrison and his HGH use. But you can't take it away from everyone it takes 53 players and a very large staff to win the super bowl, if one guy cheats, that doesnt mean the other 52 guys deserve to be stripped of their rings...
If I remember correctly, the punishment was: 1st offense: fine, unreported 2nd offense: 4 game suspension 3rd offense: 1 year suspension
That's for other transgressions including illicit drug use. PEDs on the banned substance list go 4 game min, 8 game min, full season.
My Sister and Brother-in-law live in Bergen County and follow H.S. Football. It was no surprise to them Cushing was caught.....many locals have said he juiced in High School.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5176949 its a pretty long article so i am not going to post it and make everyone scroll half a page. my question is that if he only had trace amounts he probably stopped taking it at almost the right time. do they do these tests really randomly? like can they show up at your house right now and test you? they should be able to for PEDs. it seems like he knew when to get off of the stuff he was just off by a few days. not that i know anything about hcg or its length of time in the system. but it just screamed at me when i read it.
