Was listening to his radio show on NFL network.
Spent the weekend watching film on Sanchez.

More than 1/3 of his INT's were Edwards way. Likely Edwards at fault. Mentioned how he got Quinn and Anderson ran out of town.

Talked about his poor 4th quarter performances. And his terrible 3rd down passing rating. What can be done to fix these issues. Obvious stuff like throwing it away.

Meeting with Sanchez and coaches this week.
Thread would be better with a link to the audio but sorry!

They really need to get the guy that made Rich Gannon.

    Paul Hackett.

I heard this today too. This is actually some of the best off-season news we have heard about Sanchez, because his interceptions were very questionable from most of us fans. After I heard Gannon say alot of his interceptions were throws to the left, and by Edwards I went and saw that.

This could no doubt be cured during the offseason. As we all know Edwards came in during the mid of da season, and now they can learn each others ways during the off season.

Gannon grew up a Jets fan I believe (I think he said it on CBS once), so this makes sense.

Did he actually offer, or are the Jets asking him to come?

The thing with Edwards: Mark Sanchez took more chances throwing for Edwards. He was the down-field receiver, and those are, obviously, riskier throws. It's the nature of the beast, throwing the deep ball. Leads to a number of interceptions, especially when there isn't much chemistry. I can't blame Braylon for that.

    Been a fan long ?

hackett is probably the best QB coach in the business.

    Made Gannon, Made Pennington.

Sanchez could be like Pennington with an Arm.

Agreed.. great QB coach, and he actually ran a pretty good offense. His playcalling was just absolutely brutal at times. But who knows how much of a hand Herm had in that.

    Exactly right.

That's what was behind Parcells thinking when he brought Vinny here.

All anyone had Vinny do was throw down the field. Bill brought him here, and let him play a horizontal game and he became great.

the thing with throwing to braylon, sanchez HAS to make poor throws that require great athletasism to catch. if sanchez puts the ball in his hands, well we all know how that works out.

This is great news. Rich Gannon was a very good QB, especially late in his career. I hated him cuz he was too good for the Jets.

Hackett still has a job. I doubt Davis/Cable would let him walk to another team in the AFC when they need him for Jason Campbell.

This. Sanchez forced a lot of throws to Edwards.

Sanchez LEARNED, or was forced by the coaching staff to stop making those killer throws. Some of them were terrible and were unnecessary.

They came up with the color code system to ensure Mark understood the situation. His decision making was clearly better when he was reminded of the situation.

Sanchez in the playoffs was clearly much better than the regular season so I am hopeful he builds on that.

Sam Wyche, who was absolutely brutal as HC, and Paul Hackett, whose playcalling was absolutely atrocious, were all responsible for the success of some guy named Joe Montana.

Paul as QB coach will work wonders, guys.

You give him an elevated title (assistant OC) with no play calling responsibilities. Then you hire an off.QA assistant to learn behind him and schotty so that when schott gets his schott you have an in house candidate to move up.

    Like McDaniels did.
