I wouldn't go as far as callign him a bust just yet. He had a tumultuous offseason and didnt get all his work in. If he gets his time in and works with the coaching staff, he should regain alot of that power. You don't just loot 10mph of your velocity in 1 offseason, not unless you're in your late 30s or had surgery. He didn't gethis work in, pitching, apperently less than 20 days all offseason(if the rumors are true).
The loss of velocity dates back to about halfway through last season. If he's been hurt all this time the SF medical staff needs to be fired for not diagnosing him by now.
He had the speed during September call up. He was not missing the 10+ mph he is now. It all chaulks up to him pissing away his offseason and not doing a god damn thing to improve/regain his arm strength.
Wow, don't know how I missed that. The link I was looking at showed him at the 90-94 range in SF at the end last year, but that makes some more sense. Regardless, I still think if he really improves his arm strength this season/offseason, he can regain some of that speed.
Starlin Castro with quite the debut for the Cubs tonight. He hit a 3-run HR in his first major league at bat, and hit a bases-clearing triple later, becoming the first player to ever drive in 6 runs in his major league debut. He is the first player born in the 1990s to play in the major leagues. At the other end of the age spectrum, Jamie Moyer became the oldest MLB pitcher (by almost a year) to ever pitch a shutout, and the second-oldest to ever pitch a complete game.
Bahahaha. You Sawx fans crack me up. Look I'm happy for the kid, he deserves all the praise in the world for this achievement, but Braden is just as much of a douchebag as Arod. Getting pissed about walking over a mound? Comon, hardly worthy of throwing fight words across the country through the media. Pretty pussified if you ask me...Not to mention, the guy acts like a punk. He's far from a class act, even though he claims to play for the name on the front of his jersey, not the back. Only thing that will bite Arod in the ass is his comment about giving Braden 15 minutes of fame. Man, that comment blew up in his face.
This makes no sense. You claimed that throwing a perfect game against the Tampa lineup was "hardly impressive" and used Buehrle doing it as an example of why, as if he's not a good pitcher. This post has nothing to do with any of that.
