BTW, I think Leonhard throws a backhanded insult at Rhodes.

    When asked about Pool:

'He plays the ball well and he's a bigger guy, he's not afraid to throw his body around so it's definitely the type of player we needed on this defense.'

Leonhard and Rhodes no doubt had their issues in the locker room. The way Leonhard talked about Rhodes leaving said it then.

I think our Secondary is going to be twice as good as last year, and we were first. Makes little sense, but these guys on paper are outrageous.

Only thing negative about Kerry Rhodes leaving was that he was able to cover well, but we all know his downsides. I see stripped balls in the future.

I like how Cromartie called Revis a leader. Being that Cromartie is older, and Revis is still basically a young adult. 24 I think he is? Pretty cool shit. Jets need to add more locker room vids to the website.

I love how Revis starts to laugh when he says they are going to have to try and run on them all day when they figure out they cant pass on us lol I cant wait for the season!

Rhodes had his moments, but nothing about his game made me think he could cover well. He was frequently out of position, late to the play, unable to commit to assignments, and hardly ever adjusted before the snap when Leonhard was calling signals.

If I were to guess, I'd say that Pool is at least as good in coverage as Rhodes was in the past few years.

The way I see it, I think Pool will at worst be an improvement over Rhodes. Sherry did nothing until the playoffs where he came up with a few plays. Maybe he'll get a strip sack like Kerry did but not get up and dance while the play is still going on and the ball loose.

Revis said Cromartie is a physical player?

I loved the Cromartie pickup, and actually suggested it before it happened, but physical?

I didnt think that was nearly as bad as what was said maybe 30 seconds earlier

"We realize we have the talent to be a really special unit this year. We realize that we need to put in the work and we need to come together as a unit, and not as individuals. You are always looking for something to get you going, well the fact that we should be really good next year is easy motivation as far as im concerned"

or something pretty close to that. I love Leonhard, he is going to be the Cotchery of the defense for as long as he can play. He will be the guy who does all the dirty work and gets no recognition by the NFL guys for it, but the fans will fucking love it!

Also I love the confidence Pool just oozes, "Im a great player, at least I think so anyways" this secondary will be disgusting

Wow if Jets fans hated Sherry and his shying away from a tackle, good god, are they going to just love Cromartie. He plays like a ballerina.............

Cromartie was never a hitter. Rhodes led DBs in sacks over a two year period. He was a willing tackler before he turned into a complete wuss-bucket. I'm guessing a lot of Jets fans were pissed off because he went from a guy who would actually get sacks to a player who would rather be looking at/masturbating to himself in the mirror.

Cromartie isn't going to have to fill those expectations, and he's a better ball hawk.

true, but i just hope Cro isn't the guy who has to step up in the hole to hit a RB.

Hopefully this team's attitude rubs off on him. If anything, just slow him down. You don't have to put the hit stick on him, just slow him a little and someone else will come in.

The last time he was in a full man to man scheme, he was beast.

From what it sounds like, the team's attitude, and Revis' especially, seems to be catching on.

I don't see him completely backing out of a tackle but I don't see him wrecking anyone either. He'll probably drag a RB down or at least try to, but I wouldn't be expecting a complete tackler.

    FYP!!!!!!!!!

Well I realize the Jets do no need him to hit like Ronnie Lott but I would prefer he didn't play like Bonnie Raitt.

The aggressiveness may rub off on Cromartie but one of the things that makes Revis special is that he blows up every screen play on his side with his ability to tackle. Not to mention Revis's proclivity to hold the edge on running plays as well. I am not so confident in Cromartie abilities to do that and lock down his side even though he certainly has the talent and size to easily do that. I have played Hockey long enough to know you can not teach toughness. A vagina is always going to be a vagina, Chastity Bono and MBGreen aside.

Watching this video and thinking about Jenkins making his return and Jason Taylor (hate that fucker but I still think he has enough in the tank to be a good pass rusher) I think our defense can be good enough to carry us to the Super Bowl. If we don't repeat as the #1 overall defense it'll be a monumental disappointment IMO

BTW, judging by that video chemistry seems pretty solid right? I mean the geometry might not be great but it seems like chemistry on the defensive side of the ball shouldn't be too bad
