Curt the Tard Strikes Again About Vazquez

    Vazquez needs to work on his scrappiness.

    Dude, he's Latino. He can't be scrappy. That's reserved for white dudes.

    Well I'm basing it on the uncharacteristic jump in his numbers that also happened when he was younger, in his prime, and still had his stuff, and on his numbers during his last season in Chicago, when he punked down the stretch, which is essentially why they jettisoned him in the first place. I think Ozzie Guillen called him gutless.

    Which is kind of a fallacy, seeing has how he performed very, very well in NY for the first half and was injured for the second half (which probably had more to do with it).

    Yeah, but Ozzie Guillen is a moron. An entertaining one, for sure, but a moron nonetheless.

    That's not to say there's something to the idea that Vazquez performs worse under pressure... I'm just saying that when presented with a more obvious cause (he's lost 4mph on his fastball), it seems like we should attribute the bulk of the blame to that first. If he gets his fastball back and still sucks like this, fine, let's call him a pussy. Without that, though, I think it's jumping the gun.
