he brings up 2 bad stories and talks about the hofstra coach getting a DWI. he just talks about how sad it is because he's going to lose his job and he knows the guy. then he talks about holmes and how much of a jerk he is and how this is the 1st of many incidents for the jets. he basically kills holmes and the jets. then a caller calls him out for taking the DWI lightly yet making like Holmes did such a horrible thing. it's just pure jet hatred.

No, it IS Jets hatred, because they don't go on his show, they aren't on the station anymore, and go on his competition on all the time. Then he took his stand last year that they were a fraud team, they made their great playoff run, and they made him look like an idiot, so he turned up his anti-jets schtick even more, like it became personal for him.

He liked Mangini. Don't remember what he said about Herm. He just doesn't like the way the players act in press conference's, and how Rex said he wants the Jets to be the biggest show in town. Him being a Giant fan found that amazingly disrespectful.
The Jets were always clearly the 2nd team in this town to the Giants until last year. When the Jets made their run and their fans came out in full force he hated it. He hated Rex's big talk, he hated the players trash talking, and he hated that they won those playoff games. He said they'd lose to the Bengals, and they won. It made him mad. Then he said there's no way they beat the Chargers. They won, and it really got to him. Honestly, if you think Francesa needs a few Jets fans to call in to get ratings and pay his bills, then you are only fooling yourself. He is the #1 show in town by a wide margin, with or without Jets fans calling in angry about what he says.

The thing to consider is that even though they were playoff teams under Sperm and Mangini they were never a real threat to win a SB. This edition of the Jets is a serious threat to win multiple SBs. It was easy to be nice about them because they were pretenders. This team is good, outspoken and well loved already by the fans. Those are all things that eat the fat man up.
Francessa's new schtick isn't really all that different from Joe Benigno's. Francessa is the angry anti-Jet guy and Benigno is the angry Jet guy. Both of them say the same nonsense, they just root for different teams. And they both count on people getting angry and listening. Cha-ching. They are the radio version of internet trolls. But internet trolls do it for personal satisfaction, and they do it for money.

I don't think there's anything fake about his hatred of the Jets really. It's because they go on his competition's shows. Plus, he hates their attitude and the way they talk trash, because he considers himself a very important, old school type of sports legend or something. And in his mind, the Jets could never compare to the honorable Giants, in any way, shape, or form. He's just a very petty guy.

GET SIRIUS and listen to Kirwan and Ryan (Kirwan is very good and is pro-Jets) or Dog. Mad Dog had a rough start on his own channel but ever since they got it up and running MDR has been solid. I'd listen to Joe and Evan over the B-Team but Dog shits on Francessa. Better spots, less biased opinions.

I jumped ship on Francessa'a show when he started this BS during the latter part of last season............when the light bulb in his head went on (and his call board lit up) after a few disparaging comments about the Jets. He's not an idiot, and knows how to get ratings...........it's sad (and infuriating) that Jets fans fall hook line and sinker for it and listent to him just to hear what he's going to say to piss them off.
