these questions are not football related and utterly stupid

asking this stuff just to throw people off is just a complete waste of time

Yeah but Marshall only beats them....

I really felt bad for the kid watching him plummet in the draft because he has the skill set to be a fantastic player in the NFL. Unfortunately I think Dallas was one of the worst places he could have ended up.

Idk if they're talking about this up north, but down here in Miami al they're talking about on local sports talk radio is Jeff Ireland and this question. It's pretty hilarious

I am of the opinion that if you are about to give 15 mil to someone to sign a contract that you can ask any question you want before doing so. Fuck people and being offended, one pick can make or break a career.

Yeah but THIS question!? I mean, really?

    A) How the hell was he supposed to respond?

    B) Can you be judged by your parent's mistakes?

To me the question was deliberately asked to piss Dez Bryant off and see how he reacted... and you can do that only to a certain degree before breaking the law. The one defining the employer/employee relationship.

I cannot ask you in a job interview if you have ever dreamed of F'ing your dead (insert relative here)... there are lines that cannot be crossed.
IMO Ireland crossed it on this one.

That said Ireland publicly said he was sorry and Bryant accepted the apology... so to me case closed.
What I think though is he'll get a warning from the Dolphins president... if he ever does something like this again his out of there.

What if with a straight face, and calmly, Dez said "yes"? Do you not draft him then? It's a stupid question.

Imagine what would've happened if Ireland asked Bart Scott this question...the Dolphins would be looking for a new GM.

If anyone was still wondering if this was wrong, Matt Millen says it wasn't.

So there you have it: asking this question was absolutely wrong.

    That's fucked up.

I can see asking questions like the one asked to Gerhart, but you don't bring someone's family into that shit.

Especially his mother. Bad call, Another reason to hate the phags.

haha he says "there are no questions that are out of bounds" in an NFL rookie interview.

they might as well ask "how big is your ****" as irrelevant questions go

I don't see what the big deal is. It's common knowledge that D. Bryant's mom has had serious legal issues. Taking those facts into consideration, I think Ireland's question was not out of line at all. It's a simple question, answer it honestly and move on...

I don't understand why the media is taking this non-issue so seriously, it's really sad that these people have nothing more important to discuss...

Sorry. The Dolphins are getting the shit bashed out of them and there's no minimizing it. There's no explaining it away. Punishment is necessary.

It's known that she was a drug dealer and in prison. Somehow that makes it perfectly acceptable to ask if she was also a whore? I'm sorry, but I'd imagine that his mother being a whore would be a bit worse for Bryant to deal with.

yes, but these meetings aren't job interviews just because they are being conducted by potential employers, so I don't think the same laws apply.

On ESPN they're saying that the Dolphins' owner is looking into the case. That's bullshit. Like they give a damn.
