I believe they are talking about there projected rounds, like how Duccasse was predicted as a mid-late 2nd rounder.
After some thought, they could be talking about where we should be picking without trading up...for example we picked Kyle Wilson in a "correct slot" because we stayed at our original draft position (29)?
Without trading up, I guess. Examples of players "selected in their correct slots" would be Ferguson, Mangold, and Gholston. Revis, Harris, and Keller wouldn't count because we traded up for them.
After reading the comments on the blog. Yes your right, its the Jets original draft position. For example: They put Mangold, DBrick as 2/3 pro bowlers chosen in the first. They dont count Revis because he was traded up for. So yes you are right.
Some of that stuff is a little confusing (also a little hard to read) though if what I read was correct it looks pretty good
The term "correct slot" is very subjective and one person's opinion. IMO, Kyle Wilson was a great value at #29 and was valued in the late teens. The Jets got a steal at #29.
By correct slot the author isn't talking about the player, he's talking about the Jets trading up or down.
That's what it would have to mean, how else would you determine correct slot? Based on what Kiper? Mayock? There are some interesting things in there, if Wilson makes the Pro Bowl there is a good chance we win the SB. No matter what happens with Cro Mart this year Wilson will at the very best be the #2 guy so that would likely mean 2 CBs in the PB!!!
