My dad sends me a txt today saying "Omar and Jerry both got 3 yr extensions", I almost threw my phone into a wall. It would be typical Mets to extend them both 3 years after a 9 game hot streak.
And the sauce is outstanding, I think. What's great about this home stand is it makes the Phillies series fairly low pressure. They could get swept and I wouldn't complain since they're on the road and all.
Great minds think alike, as I thought of both of these things earlier tonight. The sauce really is excellent. As to the Phillies, I admit that I thought given this homestand, winning only 1 of 3 isn't so bad - I just can't get behind a sweep. Of course, imagine if the Mets actually win 2 of 3 - would we have to start taking this team seriously?
Maybe I went a little overboard with the sweep thing, I wouldn't just be happy to take that. But the point stands. And I think we have to take them a little seriously right now; if they win 2 of 3 this weekend, then something's really happening here.
