Jets definitely need to evaluate this opp. If they think Henderson can play End, i'd go all out to sign him. If not, i would like to see Douglas back here at least. He had a real nice year playing behind the LOS in this scheme.
Man, that's probably bigger than the schism that was created after Pennington, Mawae, TJ, Coles, and countless other players left the business franchise of the Jets. If you put all of those schisms together... WE COULD CREATE A BLACK HOLE!!! SOMEBODY CALL STEPHEN HAWKING!
I like it! For real though, I think the Giants are trying to get back to their 2007 formula for winning; dominating the line of scrimmage and attacking the QB in waves on 3rd down. The offense is going to be different from the 2007 version in that it will be more pass-oriented due to the development of Eli and the overall superior talent at the WR position. I'm actually pretty excited about this! I think having a competent DC (Fewell doesn't need to be all-world, only pretty good) will work wonders for that defensive unit.
He'd play DE here, but it looks like KC already has him coming in. At least that means he's willing to move to the 3-4.
Only weakness I see for Giants next season is CB's besides Terrell Thomas I don't like any of your corners
I forgot the 6'7" part and was just looking at the 335lbs part. Yea, he's better suited for DE in a 3-4. Still, he could probably fill in for Jenkins on a rotation.
I think the CB situation will be okay if both Webster and Ross can stay healthy. Webster was great early last year, but suffered a sprained knee and was pretty bad down the stretch. Ross played more at safety than CB due to numerous hamstring injuries. I think they can make it work if they stay healthy. They should be helped by an improved passrush, VASTLY better safety play, and a DC that's not a retarded asshole. The LB position is the weakness, however. We have a bunch of down hill guys at SAM, the oft-injured Boley at WILL, and ??? at MLB. That position worries me a bit, unless Goff manages to step up.
I would love it if the Jets signed Henderson. He'd provide versatility and a big upgrade at the point of attack, and he and Jenkins length would be a major impediment for opposing quarterbacks on passing downs. Guys like Henderson have value well into their 30's because they're simply very difficult to move. A 335 pound man is a 335 pound man. -X-
I would love to see Henderson here as the DE lined up next to Jenkins, and you can never put anything past Tannenbaum, but I think this one is a long shot.
c'mon big john! He would make more of an impact on this team than Adalus Thomas would.. Next to Jenks. OH my
Have a feeling the Jets are standing pat on defense unless Sharper becomes available. Though I wouldn't put anything past Tanny...
The combination of Kris Jenkins and John Henderson has a collective body mass large enough to plug a black hole! I read about it on the innernet!
