No. I'm done giving Johnson a chance. The guy flat out sucks, is a constant injury risk, and is terrible compared to the two guys who would have filled his position. I came around on Gardner because Gardner can bring something to the table both on the grass, and on the dirt. Johnson brings nothing. He flat out sucks, and the numbers show it. I'd love to see Montero come up, but I still want to see him be a catcher. I read yesterday he's in a slump too. How about Miranda? That's who I wanted to give a shot to at DH if not Damon or Matsui. I'm looking for another gem from Hughes tomorrow. I'm looking out to June for his no-hitter against Houston though.
After all of your years of supposedly watching baseball, how is it that you can still be so damn sure about someone based on April baseball? The numbers "show" less than one month's worth of playing, which means they're ridiculously volatile. Granderson's line fell from .313/.389/.563/.951 before the Oakland series all the way to .246/.343/.443/.786. That happened in six games. April baseball. Did he suddenly become a sucky player? Of course not. In six more games he could be close to the original line. That's April baseball. The same applies to Johnson. He's been rather unlucky to start the season (his career BABIP is over .300, for this year it's .182). This early in the year, just one or two of those balls falling in changes his line drastically. And the low BABIP is not because he isn't hitting the ball hard. Johnson's career line drive % is 22%. This year, he's at 24%, so that's not the reason for the low BABIP. He's just been a bit unlucky. That's not to say he's been playing particularly well. Just not as badly as you seem to think based on the sixteen games he's played. Sixteen games! Who uses a 10% of the season as conclusive evidence, anyway? Who is done giving a guy a chance after sixteen games? That's crazy, man. Miranda can't hit lefties to save his life. And I can't believe you'd want Miranda, but loathe Johnson. That makes zero sense.
You know, I looked past your asinine "knucklehead" comment on the last page, and graced you with my conversation again. I'll be sure to think twice before bothering next time. Every time you post the douche just drips from it. It's fine though. Do what you're good at I say.
Sorry, did you think I was referring to you with the knucklehead comment? I wasn't. You didn't even cross my mind. Specifically, I was thinking of Francessa and the other clowns in the media who spouted off about how Joba was "built for the pen" and how he's a "bulldog" and didn't have the mental toughness to start and blah blah blah. I guess if you agree with them, I can understand why you'd think I was referring to you, but sorry, I wasn't. Thanks for "gracing me" with your conversation again, though. You're too kind. You take things waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously, man.
