Let's call this shit a game. The Braves are horrible fundamentally and don't seem too much in it anyways. Just call the game, umps.
It depends on the situation. If it's tied or if the road team took the lead in the top of the inning and the home team hasn't come to bat, they usually will suspend the game, I believe. If it's a situation like this, though, it's an official game and can be called. They want to resume it and will wait, but I think there's a good chance of it being called.
check that, it's still coming down hard. Apparently, I can't tell from my window. I went downstairs and I can hear it pounding on the awning.
Game called! Mets 6-1 on the homestand, and back to 1 game over .500. Here's an arcane question: I know that if the game had ended before the start of the 6th Pelfrey would have been credited with a complete game shutout. Does he still get one even though Valdes threw 1 pitch in an inning that doesn't end up counting?
I wanted to say this yesterday but I wasn't near a computer. In yesterdays game, circa 6th inning, mets are up 1-0, braves have two runners on with one out. The pitcher is due up after the next batter........tis why you watch national league baseball. Ralph Kiner even pointed this out, we nearly spoke in unison.
