How awesome would it be if they called this game?

yeah, that would really be good for the bullpen, aside from the lucky win over a rival.

even if they do resume later, this should finish Hanson for the night.

Can games still be called? I thought they are now finished at a later date.

Probably too much to hope for that the game ends here, unfortunately.

Let's call this shit a game. The Braves are horrible fundamentally and don't seem too much in it anyways. Just call the game, umps.

Sure - the Yankees beat Texas in a 6-inning game on April 16 of this year, for example.

    It depends on the situation.

If it's tied or if the road team took the lead in the top of the inning and the home team hasn't come to bat, they usually will suspend the game, I believe.

If it's a situation like this, though, it's an official game and can be called.

They want to resume it and will wait, but I think there's a good chance of it being called.

check that, it's still coming down hard.

Apparently, I can't tell from my window. I went downstairs and I can hear it pounding on the awning.

Game called! Mets 6-1 on the homestand, and back to 1 game over .500.

Here's an arcane question: I know that if the game had ended before the start of the 6th Pelfrey would have been credited with a complete game shutout. Does he still get one even though Valdes threw 1 pitch in an inning that doesn't end up counting?

I think Pelfrey won't mind just taking the win.
Especially the way he was pitching.

I wanted to say this yesterday but I wasn't near a computer. In yesterdays game, circa 6th inning, mets are up 1-0, braves have two runners on with one out. The pitcher is due up after the next batter........tis why you watch national league baseball. Ralph Kiner even pointed this out, we nearly spoke in unison.
