When I was looking at the combine I didn't like this guy AT ALL! But the highlights for him are very good considering he'll be our 3rd down back. I wonder if Tanny and Rex asked Sanchez how he felt about McKnight (more as a person than as a player)...
You're putting way too much stock in the combine. Joe McKnight was the best player in the entire country the year he committed to USC. The guy's got tons and tons of potential. He's further along as a receiver than any player in this draft. Spiller may be the more explosive receiving threat, but he's never had to run any routes at receiver. McKnight split out wide a lot at USC. The kid's been used as a compliment to power backs his entire college career - he'll be a great fit here. I think we got a mid-to-late second round prospect in the fourth round.
I think he'll be a better pro than college player. That's a pretty hefty proclamation but he played at his best in space and our offensive line is one of the best in the league at getting backs to that second level.
I don't usually consider the combine much when players stand out in a positive way (because they are just doing exercises, not playing football) but when they stand out negatively it always weirds me out. If they don't look well in shorts how can the look well with a football uni? But then again, as I've said before, I like his highlights a lot and that's the important part so I'm happy we got him on board. PS talking about the combine... remember when I pointed out Te'o-neshiem? Seems like the Eagles agree with me taking him so high .
Wow. McKnight single-handedly won that game for them on that last drive. We'll definitely forget about Leon once this kid has a chance to run.
I really liked this guy at the combine and I was happy the Eagles felt the same way I did... he was really productive too... who cares what McShay thinks! Ps It was just a little shot/joke at Mr. E but it was just that... I was high on some other kids too and they went undrafted... PPS I actually agree on the reaching part... he was a player I wanted the Jets to pick in rd 5... rd 3 (with guys like Griffen still on the board) was like 'wow'
Personally I hate Mcshay and from what little I knew about him and the film I watched I think he was a little better than "one-dimensional" which is what Mcshay called him. Maybe not a 3rd rounder but around a 5th in my eyes. I never really knew how much I hated Mcshay until I started listening more to NFLN and their analysts. They make Mcshay look fucking retarded.
The funniest part was when Kiper said something about T.O. and the Eagles. I was like WTF?!?!?!?! But then I realized he was referring to Teo-Nesheim.
Here's another video of this kid. He looks like he can pretty dangerous, especially since he'll be learning from one of the best in LT.
+1. I had him ranked as the #3 back in the draft in terms of versatility behind Spiller and McCluster.
It was reported in the papers that Tannenbaum asked Sanchez if he wanted McKnight and Sanchez signed off on it. The Jets can utilize him in the slot, 3rd downs, him and Brad Smith in the "Wildcat" or "Seminole" formation. Well, maybe now that Leon is gone they can call it the "Trojan".
whatever McShay said...... just stop listening to that moron.. listen to mayock, he's the only one with any credibility.
