question...who are our backups for OG besides the newly drafted Ducasse? I'm wondering who we have to start at Guard.

    Ducasse, Hunter, Turner, Slauson.

Seems like we have sufficient depth there for now.

After listening to today's presser, Slauson and Ducasse will compete for the starting left guard spot.

Robert Turner will be the backup center.

Wayne Hunter will be the backup tackle. We could definitely use a backup tackle, unless Ducasse ends up backing up Slauson.

yep. hunter and turner played pretty well last year. and the CS believes in slauson. that's without even bringing vlad into the conversation (which we will be doing)

    plenty of depth.

on a side note, i hate saying the name slauson. anyone else feel that way?

I do like saying "Vlad Ducasse," though.

    True. I overlooked Faneca's release.

Still, I'm comfortable with our depth along the OL; adding one more guy should set us straight for this season.

IMO we should definately pick up Kevin Haslam he is a solid Olineman and was half the reason (besides Anthony Davis) that that Rutgers offensive line was the solid. He'd be an excellent pick up. Had 5th round value.

I just did a quick search of the FA OL - focusing on Tackles - and it doesn't appear that many/any backups are available (though the sites I perused may not have been 100% accurate and/or current).

If that's the case, and if we add one more OL, then he may very well have to be unproven, which I don't think is a concern at this point; just sayin.. I don't know if there's an alternative.

Bahaha...I had that as my Facebook update last night, but I did Du Casse Jets instead. The first response? "What did you do to Rammstein"?

    LT: D’Brickashaw Ferguson (Wayne Hunter)
    LG: Vladimir Ducasse (Matt Slauson)
    C: Nick Mangold (Robert Turner)
    RG: Brandon Moore (Matt Slauson)
    RT: Damien Woody (Wayne Hunter)

    Correct?

I know I may be the only one thinking this but I hope Slauson wins the LG job because I want Ducasse to be our future RT!

Ferguson, Slauson, Mangold, Moore, Ducasse would be nasty!

well its only nasty if Ducasse and Slauson are any good...

But i agree if Slauson wins the job we won't need to spend a high pick on the OL for probably 2 years or so when we would need a replacement for moore in his early 30's.

God how scary would that be?
