Faneca got released to make room for a cheaper option with similiar skills: And Leon Johnson doesn't exist.
All I ask is to hold off on the SOJ talk until this team plays at least 1 snap this year. It's not even training camp yet, chill out.
Haha, you know you f'ed up when the Jaded man himself calls you out... At first glance, the moves make no sense, I agree. Take the time to educate yourself though, and you just may be surprised how well we did...
@NDmick: Very true. Your WR unit should be explosive. The rivalry is always better when both teams are good. Brandon Marshall vs Revis will be a bitch, so we'll have to find a way to run the ball, and hope Brian Hartline improves from last year. EDIT: I can't reply with a quote. Can someone help me with that?
get more posts without spamming i hate the dolphins for getting better this offseason...dansby, marshall, odrick, and reshad jones is a hell of an offseason
@ace_o_spades: I'm excited about the picks. They added 6 linebackers this offseason. Not all will pan out, of course, but hopefully they hit more than they miss because the LB unit was TERRIBLE last year. Channing Crowder, Reggie Torbor, Quentin Moses...all those guys are screwed. We could use a TE though.
I'm honestly surprised that you guys passed on Aaron Hernendez... Thank God you did but it surprised me. You guys getting Reshad Jones in the 5th pissed me off bad. Sadly you didn't make any bad decisions this year and that sucks because I want to see you guys get worse not better.
i think the OP makes some fair points. but i also trust the front office. i think the decisions to move leon and drop faneca are not all that crazy. leon is pretty far down the depth chart and an injury concern. there's a good chance we don't see his explosiveness ever again. and - at least per tannenbaum - this mcroberts guy is a close facsimile. who knows...if he is, it's gravy. as for faneca, he may still have something in the tank, but i don't know enough to say. i guess my point is : do you trust the front office or not? i do. but it's not crazy to ask these questions. it is indeed an uncapped year so the money isn't (shouldn't be) an issue.
I'm questioning your fandom with you calling him McRoberts. We drafted him TODAY and you don't even know his name. And money is absolutely an issue especially in an uncapped year. If you get irresponsible with your finances because there is no ceiling and then a cap hits you can be in for a world of trouble. This was a cost cutting move for next year with the assumption a new CBA is reached by then. I don't question anything our FO does because they have not given me any reason to. Tanny should be in the running for Exec of the year along with Polian and Ozzie. And also the OP made no good points at all.
Your biggest problem is no NT though. To remedy that the Fins are going to use their best DE as an NT and he is too under sized. Throw that out though if they use more 4-3 sets.........
