Rex Ryan said that this draft was just a bonus not you guys, and that bothers me. There's an arrogance there. We absolutely were the definition of 9-7. That Bills game and that Falcons game were embarassing and elite teams don't do that. Couple that with the fact that our schedule was soft and we would not have beaten the Colts when they pulled their starters... we were definitely a 9-7 team. I loved what I saw in the playoffs, yes we got hot, but slow down. The schedule this year is much harder. Also we're hoping Sanchez flips his TD/INT numbers, but that's not a given either.
Incredible, isn't it? We were on life support. Even our own coach thought we were out of the playoffs until he was embarassingly told differently. Unblievable how some guys rewrite history, even when it's only 6 months old!
Rex has said that we're still a run-first team, we're really not changing much. We've just given ourselves a lot more high-quality options and weapons in the passing game. You are overreacting quite a bit.
No, but the entertainment value is through the dang roof. As soon as we drafted McKnight I knew we were in for some fun.
Alittle something to make everyone feel better. A Presser by Rex and Tanny after day 3. http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/multimedia/video/2161-2010-draft-day-3-recap-press-conference
While we didn't address the positions I thought we were going to address, there must be a reason for that. Before the draft started there were two positions that I didn't feel we had starters set for opening day: defensive end and punter. We didn't address either of those positions at all. Why is that? I don't know. Apparently, Rex feels fine about the D-line depth. I figured we were going to draft at least one guy because next year we're going to have to deal with replacing Shaun Ellis, too. Punter is a position that often is addressed after the draft.
i think we should all wait until the season starts and see how they all play out. to be honest ive never heard or seen john conner play a down. we're all going by word of "experts" trust rex and the front office. we'll get a closer look because of hard knocks, and we can judge from there.
What's laughable is the SOJ's attitude still being embraced by a majority of Jets fans. Have some trust in our FO. They seem to know what they're doing more than I can say 99.9% of us fans do. SOJ's are no more!!!
but some of us have, and i can tell you the kid is a monster. he was the only thing kentucky really had going for them this year outside maybe Lindley at CB. when the highly likable and valuable but aging T-rich is gone...you'll be praising this pick
Not to mention the kid will be learning from TONY FUCKING RICHARDSON. He couldn't have picked a better situation to come into. Great pick by the Jets.
a little harsh, but well said. Needed to be said, frankly. I felt the same way reading all the posts from the past two days.
