    hahahaha

Understand that a 5th rounder for Leon and a 7th was all they were going to get.

I understand the uncapped year, but it's not about just spending money, it's still their money and the Jets probably have a financial game plan as well as a team game plan.

Also keep in mind that no matter what a team pays a player his production may be the reason why they let him go.

Sorry if this has been spoken about already.

I really don't understand where this overhyped LW love came from. We all like him as a person and a player, and he was definitely the most explosive player on our offense while he was there. However, this guy is a ROLE PLAYER. It's plain and simple, LW is a change of pace back and is great at catching the ball in the backfield. He was productive while he was here, now he's gone.

As for Feneca, if people can't see how paying a guy over 7 mil for being a great run blocker while also being the biggest liability to injuring our franchise QB then I don't know what to tell you.

Also, it's funny how people just think keeping Faneca was the smart move because it was only "a couple mil." You know like a few million dollars is like pennies or something.

    Re: Faneca officially released

There's also the issue of an injury in minicamp and having to pay his full salary at that point.

Just saying....last time Alan Faneca left a team, the team he left won the Super Bowl.

I'm not thrilled with the move but I understand why they did it. Though it does hurt me as an LSU fan to see perhaps the best lineman in school history to get cut from my favorite pro team, but it happens.

Now lets shell out some cash to keep Mangold and Harris happy for a long time

I'm fine with the move. I never really thought Alan Faneca was great with us, he was good and then became below average. I think we stick in Vlad and we'll be fine.

Gholston isn't even athletic; no flexibility, no lateral movement. He's just strong and fast. The dude looks about as awkward as Peyton when he tries to change direction.

Gholston's not athletic. He's real jacked and can run in a straight line pretty fast. That's it.

Vlad reportedly has a great work ethic and wasn't drafted 6th overall.

People really weren't saying he was below average until he got cut.

They still have to pay him 5 mil.... so they save 2 mil, and pin their hopes on a rookie who is deemed as being raw? thsi was one move too many for a team that was a game away from the super Bowl. We know what happened after Kendall was traded. Thsi isn't as bad as that, but I see it as risky. if this kid busts (and I don't think he will, but he's going to make rookie mistakes) it could be a disaster.

Kind of reminds me of the tinkering the Mets did after 1986.... too many moves.
