No combine invite. Played lesser competition. Should have been drafted sooner......NFL draft can be unpredictable.
ESPN Insider rates Barnes as a 40 (Borderline Draft Prospect) ... his biggest weakness looks to be his speed and YAC-ability . . . Separation Skills (3) Reads coverage well, sits down in soft spots working against zone looks and uses frame to shield defenders from the ball. Sound footwork coming off the line, uses hands fairly well and can get a clean release working against press coverage though lack of ideal foot speed raises some concerns about ability to do so at the NFL level. Doesn't sink hips or explode off plant foot and going to have a much tougher time separating from man coverage at the NFL level. Ball Skills (2) Excellent focus and generally looks ball into hands. Good body control in the air and can adjust to passes thrown behind him. Snatches the ball out of the air without breaking stride when running crossing routes but lets it get into frame downfield too much. Vertical Speed (5) Tracks the ball well but marginal top-end speed and doesn't show a second gear when running downfield. Doesn't explode off the ball and takes too long to eat up cushion when cornerback plays off the ball. Run After Catch (4) Fluid turning upfield and fights for yards after contact but not much of a big-play threat with the ball in his hands. Is not a shifty open field runner that can consistently make defenders miss in space and lacks breakaway speed. Competitiveness/Toughness (2) Does not shy away from contact and not afraid to work the middle of the field. Takes pride in blocking and generally gets into sound position. Willing stalk blocker that flashes a strong punch and moves feet once locked on. Appears to play best in high-pressure situations i.e. third down and late in the game. Runs hard but runs too high and could do a better job of lowering shoulder into defenders when gets into space.
I really believe we are going to sign at bunch of FA in the next 24 hours. Even Rookies want to play for Rex!!!!
No argument....just the way things work out. Most players now don't want to be drafted in Rd 7....they would rather select their team in FA tonight.
Agreed, I expect to see Rex looking at UDFAs to be like a fat kid in a candy shop. Especially since weve done little to address the majority of our defense so I fully expect him to go nuts
Would love to see him go Undrafted and the Jets pick him up as a UDFA. Would make INCREDIBLE depth at WR especially for the future.
What's your "Best Left" list look like? I'm an offensive guy myself, so I would really like Barnes, and Blount to fall out of the round.

God if Blount falls to us thatll just be insane. I really dont think theres a shot at it happening but still just wow. Too bad like 20 teams get fricken compensatory picks this one
