Maybe the Jets don't want these guys. It's quite clear the Jets and Rex want to (re)build the backfield.
Yea, I was really just going for the reference. Good player, but now we have no more picks, DL not addressed, and left Cam Thomas sitting on the board. Kind of disappointed. B-, overall.
Top fullback in the draft by many prognosticators: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2010-draft-center-fullback-grading-scale.html
How anybody could be surprised about this is nothing short of hilarious. The day he ran his mouth was the day he began the end of his Jets career. If he hadn't gone and broken his leg it would have been long before now.
Where the fuck have you been the entire off season? This draft had to find us replacements at DE and OLB. We just traded a RB and our 7th rounder (which looked to have real good value) for a one dimensional blocking FB. Cool.
I like it. He looks pretty jacked. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d816ced8b/2010-Combine-workout-John-Conner
hey faggots theres probably a reason why CAM THOMAS is still undrafted, nobody thinks hes a legit NT in the NFL we are a power running team and we just got by far the best FB in the draft, he will be blocking for Greene and McKnight for years, since TRich is gone next year for sure, hes got one year to learn from the best and we dont miss a beat we are fine on the DL, nobody we get at this point would be better than Pitoutia and Devito and Pouha anyway i bet we can get thomas as a UDFA anyway nobody wants that fat slob
I understand that, but you don't think Leon was worth even a 5th straight up?? As gay as 7th round draft picks are, I still think we just threw it away....bad value IMHO
ESPN: John Conner, FB ... Intangibles (2) Plays extensively on special teams. 2007: Participates in an event at the YMCA. 2005: Walks on at Kentucky. Competitiveness/Toughness (2) Runs hard and rarely goes down on contact. Has a nasty disposition and appears fearless in phone booth situation. More of a mauler than a finesse blocker. Can block multiple defenders on one play but appears to prematurely gear down on occasion. Blocking Skills (2) Gets excellent initial surge. Gets under defenders and explodes into blocks. Shows above-average lower body strength on film and can seal backside defensive end. Not a great athlete but takes sound angles to downfield assignments and can get into position at the second level on stretch plays. Effective open field cut blocker. Aggressive and willing pass blocker that attacks the legs of rushing defenders. Keeps head on a swivel and recognizes blitzes. Doesn't play with a wide base or consistently get sound hand placement though and slips off too many blocks. Inside Run Skills (2) Drives legs after contact and can push the pile in short-yardage situations. Shows above-average patience and vision. Makes crisp first cut and can cut back. Lower center of gravity and can run though would-be arm tackles but doesn't always keep feet under him and can stumble. Receiving Skills (4) Going to have a difficult time separating from man coverage. Raw route runner and not quick enough to run away from linebackers. Not much of a threat after the catch. Traps the ball against frame at times and admittedly has small hands but can make routine catches. Looks ball in hands and flashes the ability to snatch it out of the air.
