Looks like Ratliff's days in Cleveland are over.
With the pick up of Colt McCoy and the trade for Seneca Wallace & Delhomme the guy is obviously the odd man out.

Unbelievable to think about 2 years ago he/we thought he'd be QB'ing the Jets?
Just goes to show you things can change in a heartbeat.

Honestly, only Jets fans who knew nothing about football thought Ratliff would be anything.

I don't think the browns ever expected to have Ratliff as the future qb

or fans who love to want to be the first to say THIS is the guy nobody ever thought about. and i am calling it now he will be great.

that and as i have mentioned numerous times this board always falls in love with the new guy only to turn on them 3-5 years later.

sounds like you're both talking about the same fans :rofl:

and yea if the new guy eventually sucks or becomes expendable people are not gonna like him or will want to see him gone for the better of the team...not sure why you're so proud of your ability to state the obvious multiple times

I think the only reason Mangini traded for him was because he actually listed to him in practice when he was on the Jets.

Actually it was only last year this time when we traded him to move up and get Sanchez. The reason people were for him was that the other option was Kellen Clemens.

    Ratliff>>>Clemens
Hell I'd take him back as a backup if it meant no more Clemens on roster.

I agree. Has Ratliff ever actually failed in the regular season? The guy has a big arm and great touch. I don't know much else about him, but I don't think he's terrible. The guy was considered a project. I figured Holmgren would keep him around as a fit for the offense, but I guess not.

I don't see why so many people have hardons for Ratliff, the guy was a preseason star like Clowney and he hasn't dont much during the regular season.

People had hard-ons for him because he threw a couple of long touchdowns in preseason and apparently they don't understand that the ability to lob a ball downfield to a wide open receiver isn't the only measure of a QB.

And he hasn't done anything in the regular season.

I'm not saying I wish we went ahead with Ratliff over Sanchez but I'd much rather have the guy as my backup over Clemens.
