Jaime Dukes likes the pick. Said Ducasse was big, strong, and athletic, and that we could plug him in at LG and play him right now, and that down the line, with development he projects Ducasse to slide over and play RT for us.
I'm all for Ducasse starting this season. Faneca was falling off with his run blocking and his pass blocking was always shit. Ducasse can't be much worse than Faneca's regression and he'll only get better. He's got 4 vets around him to pick him up.
I wouldn't rush him in. This is what nfldraftscout.com said about him a week ago. 04/01/2010 - Saw Massachusetts offensive lineman Vladimiar Ducasse at the Senior Bowl. He seems to be the type of player who will keep a scouting director awake at night wondering what to make of him. There is a boom-or-bust quality to Ducasse. He is as physically imposing at Idaho guard-tackle Mike Iupati, expected to be a first-round pick. At the Senior Bowl, Ducasse showed strength, long arms and athletic ability. Ducasse, a native if Haiti, is also raw. In the drills, Ducasse had difficulty against linemen who did anything other than bull-rush him. He had real problems against any linemen who used an inside move, often whiffing on them. The talent is there. The question for the Cowboys and every other team revolves around how long it will take Ducasse to reach NFL level. - Gerry Fraley, The Dallas Morning News
Can't believe Griffen is still on board as well as Sapp and Cam Thomas. We need to get into this round.
