Hughes is solely a 4-3 DE. I love the Wilson pick. The Dolphins made a great pick with Odrick. He would have been a perfect fit with the Jets as a 3-4 DE next to Ellis and Jenkins.
That's the guy I saw more and liked. He had lapses at times, partly because teams didn't throw at him often, so I don't quite get "Toast Robinson" but the entire defense was trash. No matter what player the Jets selected would've had the right attitude under Rex, I just like PRob more.
I had no idea who wilson was cause he was rated so high. Never thought he was there and didn't notice him on the "Mel's BPA list". After McCourty and Odrick were taken I said to myself - meh, trade the pick and gets some more picks for later. Then Wilson egts picks. Who? Oh yeah , Rex likes corners Let me read up on this guy. My assessment now while reading the posts and checking out some vids? Battleship Wilson patrolling the shores of Revis Island and Cromartie Cove. The opposition better start loading up on RBs in the later rounds cause the only way your gonna score on the Jets is running the ball....
This confused the hell out of me at first, and I was a Kindle supporter, but I'm starting to like the idea of having an impassable(pun-intended) secondary.:jets:
Thats almost every team that we may face in the playoffs. New England, Indy, and San Diego all love to throw the ball and hate to run alot just look at the decline in their run games. Indy probably has the better run game of the 3 teams. It also looks like the chargers may get that first round by again with the easiness of their division and schedule.
Wilson was also the strongest CB in the draft. One of the things that makes Revis great is his strength and how he uses it against receivers, Wilson is going to have the best teammate possible to learn how to use his strength to become an even better corner in the NFL!
i find it very strange that every player that we dangled in the offseason, that we obviously wanted to upgrade, or replace, was drafted before our pick at 29? i just did not think wilson was a possibility, i thought he would be gone or he wasnt our greater need. it seems that ryan believes that we needed coverage rather than pressure. maybe he thought our greater need would be a reach, so he took bpa to fill a lesser need?i do know one thing......... our nickel and dime packages have just gotten "bad as hell!" cant wait for round 2, and further revelation of rex's plan!!!
Mike Lombardi just said on NFL Network that the best value in the draft is Kyle Wilson to the Jets which gives the jets "outstanding value". I'm in complete and utter shock at Wilson falling all the way to 29
The hate isn't complete until this is posted: The Jets have made opposing offenses one-dimensional. No more getting burned by Peyton Manning's waterboy because of Drew Coleman.
