I see this pick as insurance against Cromartie either not working out, doing something truly stupid regarding his child support payments, or asking too much after this season is over. If this kid is the next TroyP, then hats off to Rex. Besides, we have other picks and this draft is deep. Who knows what the mad scientist will pull out of his hat in round 2..
I really think we need to address the DL, but if someone like Joseph falls to us in round 2 or we resign Douglas I'll be very happy about getting Wilson. I like how it gives us flexibility to not have to resign Cromartie if we need money to lock up all our other FAs. I was mad we missed Odrick by one pick, and might've preferred Kindle there to go with a crazy pass rush, but Wilson was arguably BPA and since we didn't have any massive needs I'm good with it.
I know you were a big supporter of McCourty at 29...just wondering, if both were on the board who would you have gone with?

Wilson is a beast like mr.e he said could have went 7th overall to the browns. Wilson was the bpa (besides Clausen) and im glad he was the pick. Kindle would have filled a bigger need but well be alrite with the OLB's we have now

Just awesome draft already. For the first time we were able to be patient and it really paid off. Anyone who says we needed a pass rusher is just being ridiculous. We didn't get that 3rd down pass rusher, so what we'll just rush 9 and drop back 8 like we did last year. The huge difference now is we hopefully have someone that won't let up a free first down on 3rd and long anymore. If you're really gonna bitch about Rex's draft picks, just look at last year's draft and see how our picks worked out then.
Yeah Taylor will get some coverage sacks next year because nobody is close to open. I also think Cromartie is going to get his 10 Int's again. He's a sniper and his guys are going to look more open than anybody else's.
