3 of the 7 #2 overall picks taken into account haven't made a Pro Bowl. All of them are on the list. Out of the 3, I'd say Bush has been the most productive. Charles Rogers is certainly a bigger bust than Gallery, but that doesn't change the fact that Gallery is still the 2nd worst #2 pick of the years chosen.
I'm not even sure what part of this to go after first... This thread is about which players are busts. No one would argue against Mike Nugent being put on this list.
And there is no way Charles Rogers is the worst pick of the decade. He was/is a mental midget, but he could play. Breaking his collarbone twice in a span of 10 months totally fucked with his 10 cent head. I tend to go a little easier on guys who get dinged early in their careers. Sure, in the grand scheme of things, they're failures, but you can't not pick a guy worrying that he might blow out his knee in preseason a la Kijana or break his collarbone in a bye week practice.
Agreed. Although it was a busted pick since Andre Johnson was picked next. Charles Rogers failure as a NFL WR is mainly due to injuries. Gholston is more of a bust than Rogers in my opinion! At least Rogers tried to be succesful!
The Mike Rumph review is harsh as fuck and hilarious. Worst cover corner of the decade? Drew Coleman says hello. But yeah Rumph was brutal in his time.

I remember that most commentators had Gallery pegged as "the safest pck of the draft" and a "can't fail prospect" which is why he belongs on that list in that he never lived up to the expectations 9regardless of whether those expectations were ever fair or correct or not).
Cmon guys, Reggie Bush has definitely been THAT bad. How has he not? Although amazing, his biggest individual achievement is fuckin Kim Kardashian. People are shitting on Gallery in this thread for salvaging his career by changing positions but still labeling him a bust because the expectations for him was to become an All Pro LT for the next decade. Yet Reggie Bush was drafted #2 overall and his expectations were to become a Marshall Faulk/Barry Sanders hybrid and he is NOT EVEN CLOSE to achieving that level of play in the NFL, nor will he ever. He is not a bust? It's the same thing. Reggie Bush's expectations were soo out of this world, he was expected to be drafted #1 overall, a RB. His potential was so crazy that the Texans GM at the time, who clearly made the right choice, chose future All Pro Mario Williams over Bush and had to resign 3 days after the draft because of the heat he was taking for it. Yeah I guess the experts, fans and the league were wrong on that one. They should mail a check to whoever the GM was every time Mario gets a sack. But similar to Gallery, Reggie salvaged his career by changing not his position but his role. He went from a superstar RB to a glorified 3rd down back. Hes a running back who can't run but can catch the ball effectively out of the backfield. Thats like a salesmen who can't sell but looks sharp on the floor. The first 3 years of his career, he improved on his YPC avg by a king size 0.1 each year. Some may say well look at his production in 2010. On a whopping 70 carries this year, he averaged 5.6 YPC. Yeah its a great avg but I've seen another back up RB put up big numbers too, LaMont Jordan averaged 7.5 YPC once upon a time lol. Meanwhile the best running back on the Saints, UDFA Pierre Thomas, has been running hard and getting the job done behind the same offensive line since day one. Reggie was suppose to be a TD machine along with breaking a bunch of long runs. It took him 4 years to break a 50 yarder and he has never scored more than 10 TDs in a season, even when you include his TD returns, which is embarrassing. I'm sorry but if I draft player who plays a dime a dozen position like RB #2 overall, I'm expecting something closer to a Tomlinson (3rd overall) not a Leon Washington (117th overall). But hey at least Leon can run a little. Reggie is a huge bust, why he gets so much love and affection I have no idea. Reggie Bust, what a joke :rofl:
Winning a SB for the Saints tends to give a better impression than missing the playoffs with the lowly Raiders. People like winners so Reggie Bush gets less flack as a bust. With that being said, Gallery is twice the player that Reggie Bush ever will be.
