Time to do a Poll and see how accurate TGG's draftniks are in predicting #29.

These are your only choices...other players are off the board or not in play.

Don't discuss players not in Poll..only why you selected your player

It was so hard for me to pass on Jerry Hughes. My hands were shaking.

    It's not a secret who I selected.

Depth and future #2 CB with awesome special teams skills.

McCourty would see alot of PT with all the 3 Man sets.

Westoff is standing on the draftroom table as we speak screaming for McCourty.

No Way!!! Was it as hard as it was for me to pass on Taylor Mays

I selected Linval Joseph. Of the players mentioned there is no one I would want as a pass rusher. We need to get younger at the line, I'm not sure about Nate Allen at that point, but I wouldnt complain. Either one would be acceptable

If that is all that's on the table for the Jets, my soul will cry a little. I love Big Poppa Linval, but even I think that's a touch high for him. Still, I went with him, close over DMC. Those are the only two of that group I'd accept.

Linval Joseph. It all starts and ends in the trenches. Lining up Joseph next to jenkins is unfair. I likey :metal:

I didn't want Kindle or Odrick in the Poll...I think they will be gone.

I would draft both ahead of Devin McCourty.

Saffold is rising big time.....could be in play.

Rodger Saffold could very well be the pick if these are the only prosects on the board at 29.

He's a smart, tough, classy player. It certainly wouldn't be the most exciting pick and I'm sure the morons at the draft would boo the pick, but it'd be a great move for the future.

I think he can play left guard or right tackle.

I'm really interested to see what happens with Mike Iupati and Maurkice Pouncey though. According to a media source, the Jets love both of these guys and I believe it.

I chose McCourty... knowing Rex I believe DMC would be the highest on our board if those were our options.

only two on that board worth drafting at 29 IMO are Joseph and Mccourty.

I really like mccourty as a prospect and think he would develop into a stud as a Jet, but I really feel that Rex believe Cro will be here long term, so why blow a 1rst rounder on a CB to be our nickle? Especially with Thurman in house, I think he has faith that Thurman can develop a mid round prospect into a top flight nickel/potential #2.

We need a pass rush OLB of the future almost as badly as DL help and there isnt even a choice for OLB there, so go get the top DL left for our scheme, bring on Joseph!

Not entirely true. Hughes is an option as much as we all hate it.

I'd rather have the unlisted Everson Griffen. Both guys are going to need a lot of work if they're going to play 3-4 OLB. Griffen is a little further along and he has a higher ceiling.

I just don't see Saffold ever being a top level player, and I'm not really thrilled about going interior line in the first unless it's a guy that can be one of the best at his position. I ripped taking Pouncey pretty hard a few weeks back, but at the very least I think he can be an elite linemen. Plus he's a little softer than I think Rex is looking for in his OL.

As an aside, this is from the Rex Ryan/Schedule press conference about the draft:

"I think we look at it as, we have an excellent football team. There’s no, ‘You absolutely need this or you need that.’ We’re set up. We’re in an ideal situation and that is we have a great team. We’re going into the draft where we can take the best player. That’s where you usually make the best decisions. Usually when you make mistakes in the draft it’s all about reaching for a guy or a need and you let a better football player go by. We’re in (a) position where we can take the best player regardless of position and just strengthen our football team. We have a great team right now without the draft. The fact that we have the draft coming up and we already have a great team, it’s going to be a real positive for us."

I did my own Rd 1 mock...and Griffen went to Philly. Philly can use CB help too!

    Iupati and Pouncey were gone.

And you also have to trade your adopt-a-bust sig with GH (if he agrees). Makes it that much better.

I think we can arrange it. For that matter if he's the pick, we should all chip in and buy a Hughes Jets jersey for Mr E to rock proudly.
