    Yea, that's some butt.
Agreed. This is worse news for Thomas and Gholston than anyone else.

Ellis is a Jet for life and anything else would be unacceptable. The Monday Night Miracle happen his rookie season. It would be football blasphemey if the Jets get rid of him. A little piece of my soul would die. It is only proper that he be around when they hoist the VLT.

I feel pretty much the same way. I have been a huge Ellis fan his whole time here. There is no way moving him in any reasonable and likely scenario makes sense.

Ellis has little trade value, if any at this point in his career.

He is our only starting caliber DE currently under contract.

When he hits FA, he'll get a better deal to stay here, even as a backup, than he would anywhere else.

    Ellis is retiring a Jet.

To those saying that Ellis has no trade value: half the league is in a 3-4 at this point and good 3-4 ends are a scarce commodity. The left end is particularly in demand. As an example, the Chargers have two nobodies playing the strong side on a team that won 13 games last year.

I have this feeling that the Ellis rumor is a trial balloon by Tannenbaum to see who comes calling looking to pick Ellis up. It would be a bad move to trade him without having a strong replacement in place but Tannenbaum is a gambler and it's easy for gambles to extend into recklessness at times.

I expect the Jets could pretty easily get a 3rd round pick for Ellis at this point and certainly a 4th plus a late rounder. I hope they don't go this route because I think Ellis has been a silent killer for them for years at strong side end and I also think in this winter of adding bad attitudes the Jets should keep one of their good long-term locker-room presences around to make sure the culture doesn't turn sour all of a sudden.

Ellis is the man and he went to UT.

No way he should be off this team when we win it all.

I think if we got rid of Ellis/Faneca, the chemistry of this team would go to absolute SHIT

I can understand if we cut Faneca next off-season, especially if we draft a G to eventually replace him, but now is not the time to get rid of leaders like Ellis and Faneca

He was great today. Maybe his best game ever. Certainly his best playoff game ever.

Ellis deserves the game ball. I think he'll get it, but I think LT will get a special "Fuck you, NE" game ball.

Ellis was a monster! The best game a Jet lineman has played on the biggest stage!

    Ellisssss!!!

Devito was on fire too today.

    Our Ends really stepped up.

Considering we lost our centerpiece early in the season, Rex has done an amazing job filling in holes.

Without a doubt. I thought this was his worst season, he just played his best game.
