Jahvid Best will get raped if he has to play in the Wildcat. (See his last play as a college back - not trying to be a dick, but he took his final snap out of the Wildcat and got owned.) I think he's got a shot to be a very good spell back, but not in Miami. I'm terrified that Ryan Mathews will end up in Miami.
You can argue about his talent (I think he's a perfect 25-snap pass rushing specialist for 1 year), but no one gives a shit that you hate him. You shouldn't give a shit that you hate him. It's not fucking relevant.
See, that's what I can actually appreciate. I agree that it's hard to accept, probably harder for some than others. I will have plenty of my own inner turmoil when I see this douche in a Jets uniform. But I believe in what Rex is doing, almost to a fault now. So I'm biting the hate until Taylor sucks an egg, and if that happens, I get to pour it out as much as I want. But I'm tired of bashing Jets moves. I want a winner. So until Rex turns out to be a bumbling fool who accidentally coached an unlikely team to the AFCCG, I'm going to believe in what he is doing. Same with Tanny. I've decided to believe, and if they make a fool out of me for it... well, let's just say that isn't uncharted territory when it comes to me and the Jets.
Quite frankly, I HATE all the lets be pals shit in the NFL today. I love listening to Deacon Jones talk about his contempt of his rivals. Taylor played for our undisputed arch rival (yes, the Pats have become bad of late, but I think the deep seeded hate is for the Dolphins); he hated the team and hated the fans, as he should. Now he plays for us, time to hate Miami and punish them for it!
When Taylor's big gay body piledrives Brady into the turf on third and short, killing the drive, tell me you won't jump up and cheer like he's been a Jet for 10 years. Child please.
Seriously. If he turns out to blow then you can boo him til the cows come home. But until then, let's grow the fuck up. All that matters is winning. If Rex believes this puts the Jets in a better position to win, then so be it.
I think the wildcat was a temporary solution for a team with a weak-armed veteran QB and a rookie QB with no experience. They had to win somehow, and it wasn't going to come from their QB corps. Notice how badly teams beat them in the second half of 2009 when they were playing out of the single wing... They ended up making Henne wing it near the end of the season because of that.
I tried. Gave up cuz too many threads. Its just funny as hell. Glad this place isn't trashed like Finheaven. 4-5 JT threads aren't really trashing though.
hahahha say what???? Gary Carlton was cracking jokes on JT saying he does not want him anymore cause hes dangling us to the dolphins. This is hilarious Dont know what to say except...Step your game up taylor and dont fuck up
Jason Taylor is going to come in here incredibly angry at the Dolphins. I'm willing to bet he feels betrayed by them. A player with something to prove is a scary thing.
Hate is too strong a word. The best way to register displeasure with this is complete and total indifference to whatever he does. He's a Mercenary, a rental, an old gladiator. Nothing more or less. He's not really a Jet, he'll be wearing the uniform and cashing the check. In return, hopefully we'll have a better pass rush. So if he gets a sack, great since he would have earned his cash. Isn't that the bottom line anyway? If he sucks, oh well. Just bench his ass and move on He already knows he'll never win over the fans but I don't think he gives a shit. This is about the money for Jason Taylor. This is about the VLT for Rex, Tanny and Woody. Drop the sentimental bullshit people. This is business.
I agree 100%. My intial reaction was out of character for me, I will admit, but I'm having a hard time swallowing this move. Personally. I need to have this same mentallity as well, and this was very well put. I do have faith in, Rex. He has been nothing but fantastic so far for us, and I got to trust that they have big plans for JT to help us make that superbowl run. Like I've said.. I've concluded that I will never like him, respect him, or favor him, but I gotta appreciate the fact that he will be here to help us win football games. I owe my team that much as a fan. So I gotta give this move the benefit of the doubt.
