Ive always wanted to make a Jets Mock but have never had the time but with no class tomorrow and nothing else to do i decided to make one to share with you all. I few interesting picks but i decided to go after NEEDS.

Round 1 (Pick 29)- Anthony Davis , OT, Rutgers
    [IMG]

I know what the skeptics will say here, " AN OLINEMAN WITH THE FIRST PICK!", now here me out Davis is a Top 25 talent but i see alot of teams reaching for OLB, DE's and CB's all postions we could fill but with not many solid options and not having to stretching for a guy like Cam Thomas, Linval Joseph, or Terrence Cody the Jets pick the BPA and a guy who can fill in at RT or OG in the future or even sooner challenging Woody or Moore for the starting job.

Round 2 (Pick 61)- Ricky Sapp, OLB , Clemson
    [IMG]

One of my favorite players coming out of the draft, Ricky Sapp is an absolute killer at finding and sacking the QB. He can aslo drop back into coverage effectively and reads plays very well. He is a bit of a project and plays both 4-3 DE as well as 3-4 OLB but Rex is great with LB's and Sapp would be the perfect pass rusher.

Round 4 (Pick 124)- Arthur Jones, DE , Syracuse
    [IMG]

Another favorite here Jones falls to our pick at 124 and can add great value to the DL while also being able to fill in at 3-4 DE opposite Ellis. A season eninding knee injury ended Jones' great college career and with a knee surgery it dropped him a bit in this draft but a run stuffer and a guy who can make tackles for losses at 6'4 301 would be exceptional in our system. Also dont for get he can play 4-3 DT when Rex decides to switch up schemes like he likes too.

Round 6 (Pick 198)- Brandon Deaderick, DT/NT, Alabama
    [IMG]

Deaderick is a Mammouth NT/DT at 314 and 6'5. Deadrick can fill in for Jenks effectively during plays when he needs off and also can fill in at 3-4 DE if needed too. Brandon did not have a successful season in 2009 but he had a very good excuse he was shot in September but besides the fact he was effective in previous years and was taught by a great coach in Nick Saban

    Round 7 (Pick 236)- Bryan McCann, CB/KR , SMU
    [IMG]

McCann is lighting fast running a 4.28 while also having a 40.5 vertical at his pro day, with impressive height at 6'0 he can stick to his receiver and is a solid tackler, i picked him as my sleeper choice and he can also be an effective KR/PR. We all know how much Rex loves fast CB's and this guy could be a wonderful pick up late.

    Undrafted FA's:
    Brent Bowden, Punter, V. Tech
    Kyle McCarthy,FS, Notre Dame
    Michael Hoomanawanui, TE, Illinois
    Matt Kopa, OT, Stanford
Pat Paschall, RB, North Dakota State
    Chris Hawkins, CB, LSU
    Kevin Haslam, OG, Rutgers

    Anthony Davis Round 1???

Probably will be gone, not that he deserves it.

IMO at 29 he is a great pickup, i think players like Graham, Iupati, McCourty, Kindle, Odrick, and Griffen may be selcted ahead of us and with Davis falling too us we have to pick him up. Tried to Mix things up a bit from the Older mocks in this forum.

Anthony Davis at 29 would be a steal. The guy's a jerkoff, but he's got a ton of talent.

E Im curious to hear if you think he'll be able to play RT or even RG on our Oline? I think he could for sure but wanted your opinion.

I think Davis has the ability to play any position on the offensive line except center.

I'd like to see him play right tackle for the Jets though. Earlier in the off-season, I thought about this a lot. I can see him at guard, but I think he'll be much more valuable on the outside.

Anthony Davis will probably end up going in the top twenty and play left tackle in the pros.

I love this mock, the first two picks are money and the rest are from positions I think we need depth in. I hope our draft follows this formula, except I'd rather pick DE or OLB first instead of OL, but if Davis is there it's pretty much a no brainer.

Right tackle IMO would be the perfect fit for him on our squad i agree but i honestly feel he can drop out of the top 1-25 and fall to us and i can definitely say that a team will be stupid and pick Bruce Campbell over Davis in this draft mark my words.

Decided to add Kevin Haslam (7th rndr-FA) to the mix of Undrafted Free Agents. He played solidly at Rutgers and is also close with Anthony Davis, could provide solid depth and a chance to make Davis more comfortable.

I like this draft but it seems like every one of your picks has fallen below where they will probably be drafted. Both Davis and Sapp will probably go higher in their respective rounds and Jones will not make it to the 4th. I would be ecstatic if he did but that is highly, highly unlikely. Most mocks I have seen have Jones going in the late 2nd.

If those guys are on the board, I'd love it. I would say that Haslam is definitely going to get drafted, 5-6 round in my mind.

As for Deaderick, I still have no idea why he's rated so low. He can be a player in the league, I'd love him as a 34 end to develop.

I see where your goin on this one and completely agree I was thinking the same thing as I was creating this mock but I realized this draft is going to be all over the place and besides the top 15 picks many players maybe jambled. For example some mocks have Dunlap at 16 and others have him going late 2nd early third soo it's really hard to predict who will fall to where.

I really think Anthony Davis has a great chance to fall into the top of the 2nd round... The talent is there, but there's just way too many extra concerns for teams.. Guys like Dez Bryant and Carlos Dunlap are similar.. But at 29 I wouldn't be too upset with Davis.

I like the rest of the draft too.. Seems pretty realistic and logical....

Article supporting my case for Davis Falling : http://www.nflhouse.com/rankings/articles/prospect-update-why-anthony-davis-is-falling.html

They also list possible places he will fall but half i honestly seeing skipping him,
San Fran and Dallas are the only places that really worry me the most.

Out of All the mocks ive seen in this draft forum yours and MR. E's are by far the best and most interesting.

Would Really like too know where you got the Draft Prospect Bryann McCann from, seems like an interesting player.

    Overall good job JohnnyThaJet

Thanks for the complement, Greatly appreciated . It takes time and effort to making one of these thoroughly and i thought i did nicely mixing it up a bit.

As for your question about McCann, he is not a very well known CB and could go undrafted BUT his stock is rising and he could be a very good project for Rex to mold in the future as a Nickel and KR/PR. His numbers are pulling him up to rounds 6-7 and had a very impressive pro day at SMU. Hes a sleeper that many don't mention.

Wow well really nice and interesting pick on McCann i gota say he seems exciting for a later round pick...

Also I noticed you picked up Bowden Punter From VTech and Hoomanawanui TE from Illinois both solid pick ups in free agency, I could see Bowden as a future Star punter as he was in college avg 43.9 yrds a punt and Hooma being an exceptional blocking tight end and has decent hands.

With your draft i can also see 29 being a blessing if Anthony Davis is available, many teams would look to trade up for that pick to get a OT the has crazy talent. If I may addd.
