LOL. Lots of thread Nazi's on here. Makes me wonder about their personal lives. Aren't we all jets fans? Surely we can be respectful of each other on the internet machine.

Hey, I may agree it was in the wrong place but don't think it's necessary tell someone don't make anymore threads. But hey I'm not as charming as you are.

Well, when someone posts something that says: "Jets to draft a running back" or "Jets to sign Jason Taylor" and it's just their opinion, it's a waste.

Misleading thread titles are annoying as hell.

I agree about misleading thread titles and I don't know everybody's posting habits so I probably should not weigh in, but it just seems like we are so quick to jump on someone for the most marginal reasons.

It's great to have discussions and disagreements (that's what the board is for right?) but in the end we all want the same thing.

I agree, but we all know the draft forum tends to become a dumping ground this time of year anyway with its 8 million mock drafts all saying the same thing. I love it when I click on a mock and the first thing I read is:

"I should warn you that I don't watch much college football, but..."

My point exactly. I'm sorry you are going to have such a tough week as you will not get to control this board because there will be a lot of excited Jets fans sharing their opinions and a few may post in the wrong places.

C'mon man, lighten up. You obviously spend a lot of time and have a passion for the draft. Enjoy it!

Why can't Gerhart be a fullback? he's almost the exact same size as T-Rich

I don't see how the Jets could draft a running back. If Leon is healthy then Leon, Greene and Tomlinson will be active every week. No way they are going to play 4 running backs especially when Greene and Tomlinson don't play special teams.

If LeGarrette Blount is there I'll be happy. If the Jets pick him, I'll be elated. Greene - Blount would be one hell of a power running duo as long as the two stay healthy and LaDainian Tomlinson is exactly the type of high character running back needed to mentor LeGarrette Blount.

He probably can. And my pants could probably work as sleeves.
Oh God, how could we forget about the amazing Chauncey Washington. Are you really bringing up a guy who has had 4 carries in three years, none of which came in the past 2, as a reason to not draft a HB?
    But he's so white!

its not that he literally cant.

but just cause the guy is over 220 lbs and white doesnt mean hes not a RB.

only could a white guy do what he did last year at his position and hear talks about a position change.

this is slowly become the late 80's early 90's black qb debate.

    seriously.

Gerhart is a HB. is he good enough of an athlete to prolly be able to go fill a gap and attack a LB'er?

    Sure.

My opinion is simply that if you watch his body of work, few teams would be willing to convert a totally legit RB prospect to a FB simply because he knows how to punish people.

I've been a fan of Gerhart/Tate/Hardesty in the 2nd. I guess Tate should be a FB.

They don't need another RB unless they dump Washington and that doesn't seem very likely especially after Miami only got a 5th for Ginn who has more value that a Washington coming off a broken leg and still unable to train.

LOL...Good grief...now you guys are getting ridiculous. Are you serious? Do you like to argue that much that you need to make up stuff or are you just trying to impress your hero buddy Mr. E(Go)?

    Make stuff up?
Here's Chauncey Washington's stats for his career. 4 Attempts for 9 yards and one Reception for 9 yards.
All of those came in 2008..

I'm getting ridiculous? Here's the basic prompt: Should the Jets draft a HB?

    The response in question:
Why would you mention him in this response unless you thought that he was going to get the ball, and if so: what the does this piece of training camp fodder have to do with any possible draft move?

If Tannenbaum thinks that someone like Gerhart, McCluster, Tate or any other HB graded in the first two rounds would improve the team and contribute then he should go ahead and draft that guy. 4HBs on a run-heavy team where the current three that will actually make the roster all have injury questions surrounding them is a pretty good idea.
