Not really sure why they would do this unless it was just finacial reasons alone. Only thing I can think of.

Because they just invested massive cash in a receiver, and they need to blow up overpriced players on their team to accommodate Marshall's contract.

Yeah, exactly what I figured but it just seemed like Ginn was their second best option now with Marshall. Ginn's speed is something you have to half-way respect. Just figured they would look to cut ends somewhere else but I guess you can find speed in the later rounds of the draft also. Glad to see him go.

Let's play guess the compensation! I say its a conditional 7 which can jump to a 5 next season. Similar to the Lito trade...

Good. Ginn always finds a way to screw us over, now he's in the NFC.

We got a 5th for Teddy Ginger, wholy shit.

I'll take it. That could find a diamond in the ruff nose tackle.

Bess is likely their 2nd best option. He was their leading receiver last year, and they like Hartline as well. Bess also returns punts, so it's not out of the question that he'd return kicks, too. He's not as talented a returner as Ginn, but they had to cut money somewhere looking forward. What a waste of a pick (although, of course, not as big of a waste as our #6 in 08).

I thought he actually could have been dangerous as the 2nd guy with Marshall getting all the attention.

fyi...he had three TD's all year last year, all against the Jets.

5th rd pick is what SF gave up

    Adam_Schefter

    RT @mortreport: It's a 5th round pick 49ers gave Dolphins for Ginn.

Ted Ginn has the same value as Holmes, at least to the Phins they do. LOL

I think that's the best part.

I hope Ginn turns into a Pro-Bowler in San Francisco.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one if I were you.

Ginn very well could be a Pro Bowler...as a returner...

That's still one more Pro Bowl appearance he'd get as a 49er than what he got as a Dolphin.
