I could live with that. But coming from McShay........there's no way it happens.

    Griffen worries me.

He reminds me of Gholston constantly. He doesnt always try and lacks a passion for the game. Last thing I want is a physical monster who doesnt give a shit. I want someone with Leonhard's heart in the first round

go find the video on Griffen in the other threads. Its from the guys at universaldraft.com

He chases people down from the other side of the field, and he has about 9 moves he uses to get to the QB.

    Gholston he is not.

If anyone is like Gholston, its a guy with only the bullrush to the QB and is soft spoken and doesn't love football.

There isn't another Gholston in this whole draft.

Whatever happen to that prospect from the Florida Gators, the talented DE with the DUI? Where is he projected now?

    That would be Carlos Dunlap.

I think he'll go mid-to-late first. If he makes it into the second round, he should go right away.

So you would consider him a nice pick, Mr E?

I like him a lot. It really depends on who's available.

The talent's there. It's really up to Dunlap to put everything together.

I'd rather have someone like Everson Griffen, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if the Jets chose Dunlap.

    This begs to differ:

Please give me one instance here where Griffen gives up on a play. He needs to work on his coverage skills I cannot find one play where he simply gives up.

^ I love the "taking plays off" portion, which not only 35 seconds, but is also him barely taking plays off.

A few clips they showed he was double teamed and got washed out, which happens. Or, he fell down, or jumped the snap count and was off balance.

He rarely took a play off. That kid loves playing football.

My pick is Odrick hands down. He's consistant, fits our scheme, and has a high motor. I absolutely hate the pass rushing OLBs in this draft, especially Kindle.

If you look at the rest of the video, you see the guy playing his ass off. Given that evidence, and the fact that that particular section of the video is the smallest version of the film is the most telling. Everyone in the NCAA and the NFL takes plays off on occasion and judging by how hard he plays seems to show that his problem is mostly due to conditioning than to a lack of desire.

This is the reason that I want the Jets to take Griffen even if we sign Taylor. Taylor and Thomas can man the majority of the snaps with Griffen coming in fresh on a few plays per game. Give the training staff and the strength and conditioning coaches time to work with him and the already miniscule instances of him taking plays off is going to disappear.
Gholston shock and an overall misunderstanding of the prospects.

    Absolutely.

    A. He's a shitty tackler.
    B. He sucks at disengaging blockers.
    C. Can't cover.
    D. Has shitty technique (see sucks at disengaging blockers)
    E. Small for OLB in a 3-4.
    F. Fuck him.

I was just going off some of the scouting reports for the guy.
They say hes an absolute physical beast, a rare once in a life time kind of guy. But then they talk about his biggest issue being he doesnt care sometimes or try his hardest.

First thing that popped into my mind after reading that was Gholston.

ie directly under his scouting report on nfl.com "Lacks competitiveness at times and doesn’t always play with high intensity"

Also on NFL.com, Gil Brandt put him in his 4th tier of 100 top players.

He said he has "unlimited potential" and is an outstanding pass rusher.

Considering he'd be out there on the big blitzing plays, he better go all out.

I don't know who does the scouting reports anymore for NFL.com's scouting combine area, but its shitty and its too little of info to go by.

I would just go by tape and Gil Brandt... and us.

Holy shit he's a monster! Or...he has conditioning problems. I don't like the sound of that but it's easier to correct.
