    Granderson is becoming one of my favorite Yanks already. I really liked that acquisition... Hughes with a nice start so far, high pitch count through five but getting it done.

    Kazmir got rocked.

    Hughes is back to his pre-hammy injury velocity. That is really, really nice to see. Also like the swings and misses he got.

    So why is Mo allowed to wear #42 even though it's retired league-wide? I never realized that until today.

    He was "grandfathered" in, as he had the # before it was deemed retired.

    He was grandfathered in. Anyone who was wearing 42 when it was retired in 1997(?) was still allowed to wear it. Mo's the last one standing.
