I remember watching the Chargers air it out in some sick games in the early 80's with Fouts throwing to Winslow, Joiner, and the other guys I am forgetting now. That was some sick offense.

Wesley Walker pisses all over this thread with his other good eye.

I would say Toon and Walker were a deadly combo, just the two of them. Add Shuler at TE and a pretty good group of recievers.

I thought #9 was a bit low for that group too. It still baffles me as to how that team didn't go to at least one Super Bowl.

They did include Winslow when putting Air Coryell at the top.

I think the 2009 Chargers were the best arsenal of recievers / pass-catching backs / tight end in NFL history ... remember how tall / fast / strong / atheletic they were???? But then we bitch-slapped them in the playoffs! :)

Maynard and Sauer were also no joke.

But I get what the original poster was saying.
Between the trio of BE, Holmes, and Cotchery, plus Keller, plus LT and Leon, this could be a special group of weapons for Sanchez.

I've said this numerous times but I have not been this excited about a Jets season in a long time.

With the new stadium, coming off a AFC Championship game, #1 Defense, and Mark looking like he matured 5 years between the regular season and the playoffs.... Baseball Sucks!!!

I came in here to say the same thing, even though Johnny Mitchell actually did have at least one decent season in '93 (630yds, 6 tds)

Mitchell was a rookie in '92 and didn't really play w/ that group much as Toon had his career ending injury in 1992 that's why i didn't include him. As a pass catcher mitchell was really good. he wasted immense talent.

Agreed! But if Edwards can catch the ball, things get much closer.
