I say it now - WE NEED LEON on the team no 3rd rounder will give back what we are giving away think people
With Marshall getting two 2nds, I doubt Leon commands this. I'd say a 3rd and a conditional 5th which could move to a 4th
why are we talking draft picks for Leon? what can help us win a chip this year more Leon or a 3rd round pick??? Bring Back Leon
injury-plagued ? Yes, he had a severe injury ... but to my knowledge he hasn't been injury plagued...
I can understand if the FO decides to trade him for a 3rd coming off his injury and all. However, I think he has more value with us than getting a 3rd for him.
I all for giving him a chance to come back with us but if a team would give us a 4th this year and conditional 4th or 5th next Id jump on it.
I would only take him back if he fires his douchebag agent. Otherwise trade his ass for whatever we can get. The FO needs to make a statement to the effect that if you overreach you will be gone. I would take a fourth for him, someone we'd have for the at least four years instead of a guy who can't see how stupid he's been in hiring a dumb agent. He's only a one year rental (and I know this is a crucial win-now year) sure to leave with no compensation next year otherwise
Was he a childhood friend or something? Keels seems like such an odd pick for what type of person Leon is. I guess it pays to have an asshole agent, but he also needs to be realistic. I think that's why Rosenhaus is so successful.
1) He's hardly "injury plagued." He had a bad bone fracture and believe it or not, they heal better and faster than bad sprains or torn ACLs, ligaments, etc. 2) Having an "annoying agent" means diddly. Leon's annoying agent won't be on the field. Pepsi Corner wants Leon on the field. Get it done Tanny.
Concussions aren't bad injuries either but it'll be in the first sentence of any thread about Pool. We don't know how Leon has recovered but I admit that "plagued" was the wrong word. I'd love Leon back but his head isn't right and I'm not sure if his heart is in it either. RB's aren't going to go early in this draft and there'll be some good ones left in later rounds. There's no point holding the Jets to ransom.
We have to keep Leon. First of all, if teams were willing to give us a 2nd rounder for him, they would have already. Remember, that was his tender. Green and Tomlinson are both HIGH injury risks. If one goes down, would you be comfortable with the other getting 30 plus touches a game? We need Washington. And I dont mean Chauncy.
Wait...what?!? Concussions aren't bad injuries? Really? Is that why they won't let you fall asleep after you've had one? You know, because there's a risk you'll never wake up. Wow. That said, I'm hopeful that Pool is being honest that his concussions have been overstated, but this isn't a thread about Pool. ------------ As for Leon, as has been said, we're not going to get equal value for him via trade at this point. The team gambled, hoping to get a second rounder, and it failed. Personally, I don't care whether he's here or not. He's a risk, so if we were to get a decent offer, I'd take it. He'll probably return to good form, but who knows? As with anyone, if he's here, I'll cheer. If he's not, screw him.
Great news, I was starting to worry leon wouldn't be around next season. Now he needs to go out and prove that he deserves a new deal.
If I was #29, I wouldn't want to have to eat crow, either; but that's the position he's in. He's pissed at the Jets for his bad luck, but he should be more pissed at Keels.
