And he will not. Lame. Shoulda let him finish it up, 108 pitches.

I'm really liking the Giants to win the West. I had them winning the Wild Card last season, and although that didn't happen, they were definitely a surprise team after the All-Star Break.

Arizona and LA will put up a fight. I'd love for the Giants to take the West, but I don't think they continue to hit this well, and the pitching is bound to cool off. I'm expecting Wild Card, at the least.

I don't see that pitching 'cooling off.' They have the best 1,2 in the game and sanchez and apparently zito are decent options. Don't forget about baumgartner coming up soon too.

first really explosive game of the season in Philly today. 13 runs in the first two innings, and the starters (Kendrick and Stammen, not exactly a stellar matchup) combined to record a total of 9 outs.

    Phillies 14, Nationals 7, in the 8th.

In St. Louis: Brett Myers vs. Brad Penny and the two teams combined for only 9 hits, 4 walks, and 3 runs! Cards win 2-1.

I don't see the 1,2 and 4 in the rotation going 7-8 every game, is what I meant. Zito is a solid 3 now. Bumgartner...eh. I'm sure he'd be a better option than Wellemeyer, but like devil said, he has bust written all over him.

    no hitter!

    He did walk six, though.

Almost like AJ Burnett's Marlins no hitter, but not quite.

Milwaukee put up 10 in the top of the first against Jason Marquis and Miguel Batista. Season high.

Eckstein's first homer of the year is a walkoff.

^ Yep. This is as underwhelming as when I found out Vince McMahon was the higher power.

DENVER -- Colorado Rockies president Keli McGregor has died in a hotel room in Salt Lake City, police said Tuesday.

Detective Rick Wall said two of McGregor's associates couldn't get in touch with him, and that someone entered his room at The Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City and found the 48-year-old McGregor unconscious Tuesday morning.

Keli McGregor spent 17 seasons with the Rockies and was named team president in 2001.

Police were called about 11 a.m. ET, and emergency workers arrived on the scene and were unable to revive him.

"There are no signs of foul play. ... Based on the initial investigation, [police and fire officials] did not see anything suspicious," Wall said. "There is nothing suspicious. At this point, it would look like it was some sort of a natural cause or something along those lines."

Wall said the investigation has been turned over to the medical examiner's office, which will determine the cause and time of death.

The Giants held the Padres to one hit tonight... and lost.
